The new Assamite clanbook is essential for Storytellers and Assamite players alike, who are wanting to use this most bloody-handed of the independent Kindred sects in their campaigns. The book provides an absolute wealth of information on the clan, it's tortured past, and it's newfound lust for the vicious and ceaseless diablerie of it's fellow Kindred. Any ST running a chronicle in an up-to-date Vampire campaign needs this book to run the clan correctly, and any long-term groups will appreciate the newfound directions which this book takes the clan in, as well as providing a far greater depth of purpose than the old 'We can't drink their blood' scenario which the Assamites used to have to suffer under. Also, the artwork is great, and the writing fluid and enjoyable. The only real downside is that, as with all clanbooks, this material should have been available to a greater extent in the campaign rulebook. Still, there's only so many pages available, and as a seperate supplement, Clanbook:Assamite delivers in bringing an obscure, stereotyped clan into prominence. Good work, White Wolf, may it continue with the rest of the series.
