this is a wonderfully easy to read book about all sorts of psychic abilities. I was particularly interested in the sections on scrying (crystal gazing) and psychometry.
The book is an old book, the language can seem outdated, however the information and how it outlines how to develop these skills and how you will develop overall due to them - is spot on. It does highlight how these skills are ancient and timeless, no shiny new books are going to tell you anything different to this one. The skills are the same, the abilities are there if you are willing to develop them., it just takes time and practice
Other subjects addressed in the book include auras, developing your astral vision, astral projection etc etc.

This book is now nearly 100 years old and was written when attitudes were radically different than they are now. Nonetheless the lessons are well written and easy to follow. This book was not written to convert the sceptic but for those who believe and want to develop their abilities further, hence the way it is written, as lessons. This biggest block to developing clairvoyant abilities is ones own mental attitude, if you believe you'll fail you will. I would definitely recommend this book both to the novice and to the experienced 'occultist'.

The author early makes the following statements: the student of occultism is quite familiar with the CRASS individual who assmumes the CHEAP skeptical attitude toward occult matters...While the opinion or views of persons of THIS CLASS are beneath the serious concern of any true student of occultism etc etc. Such insulting remarks are unworthy of an educated man. This is akin to a church saying 'you don't believe in God? Then you are an idiot! Clear off. You aren't welcome here!
A skeptic like myself is a doubter, not a moron. I came to the book prepared to read what the author had to say. Who knows he may well have convinced me had I felt inclined to ontinue. It is a poor teacher who only wishes to teach those prepared to believe every word he says. The author clearly wants to talk only to those who already believe. A pointless exercise, wouldn't you say?
