Product Description

Product Description

She's the nation's favourite TV actress...and she's the ultimate bad girl. Loved by millions of fans for her award-winning portrayal of "Emmerdale" superbitch Kim Tate and as wing governor Karen Betts in "Bad Girls", Claire King is undeniably one of the most familiar faces on our screens today. Yet, astonishingly, she has managed to keep her private life out of the spotlight...until now. Here, for the first time, Claire finally reveals all in her incredible life story - the love affairs, the heartbreak, the off-screen feuds and even the crazed fans. Claire dishes the dirt on her "Emmerdale" and "Bad Girls" days, reveals the secrets behind the sequins on BBC1's "Strictly Come Dancing" and tells all about the affair that sent shockwaves around the country.

About the Author

Claire King was brought up in North Yorkshire. She began her career as a DJ at the Warehouse club in Leeds. Having lived in London for several years, Claire returned to her native Yorkshire where she took on the role of Kim Tate in Emmerdale, and helped to turn the fortunes of the soap around. Both this role, and her role in prison drama Bad Girls have won her a huge fan base and untold amounts of critical acclaim.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best books in ages, 16 May 2006
I watched Claire King in Emmerdale years ago when she played the superbitch Kim Tate but then somehow lost track of her until I noticed this book was out. I actually bought it expecting the usual behind the scenes tv gossip and expecting to find it amusing yet candy floss like (I often read books I dont expect to be earth shattering as I sometimes fancy escapism) but Confessions Of a Bad Girl really blew me away. Claire Kings story is certainly an unusual one, so much has happened in her life, 'I wont reveal any spoilers here' but all of her story kept me so riveted that I actually read this book in one go. Her memories of her teenage love affair with Bob Geldof was witty, charming, moving and sad, her account of her marriage breakdown was also one that struck a chord, and her attitude too had me laughing with her and admiring at her in equal measures. I can honestly say I thoroughly enjoyed every page of this autobiography which to me is the sign of a truly honest account of a someone's life - rather than a sugar coated one. Try it - you will not be disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars couldnt put this down!, 20 Jun 2006
This book is a great read even if you're not a fan. I've never liked Emmerdale and didn't really know anything about Claire King but I just picked this up whilst out shopping, as I was looking for something/anything(!) to read and once I'd started on the first chapter I just couldn't put it down until I reached the very end. A lovely day spent in the company of a very interesting woman!! try it -
its certainly not boring!

5.0 out of 5 stars brilliant - excellent read, 11 Aug 2006

This is a great read, beautifully written and really interesting. There is so much to learn about Claire, there are so many twists and turns in this book I had to read it in a day to find out if there is a happy ending.

It is good to hear Claire's account of her affair with Bob Geldof because it proves he was NO saint as Paula always said but no one believed her!

Claire has been dealt some cruel blows in recent years and I wish her well for the future.

YOU HAVE TO READ IT TO BELIEVE IT! - CAN'T WAIT FOR HER NEXT ONE.

BUY IT
