Claire Allan is a reporter, mother, and author who lives in Northern Ireland.
She works as a journalist and columnist for the Derry Journal while writing books in her spare time.
She has been writing novels since 2006, when she set herself a six month challenge to write her first novel before she turned 30. She finished the book (now published as Rainy Days and Tuesdays) with a week to spare.
She considers herself exceptionally lucky to have secured both an agent and a publishing deal with her first attempt at writing a novel! Rainy Days and Tuesdays was a number 2 bestseller in Ireland.
Claire's books cover everything from break ups to break downs, family relationships to a little bit of social history - and she prides herself on writing with both humour and warmth.
Since publishing her first novel she has gone on to act as a spokesperson for Aware Defeat Depression and has campaigned for a better understanding of Post Natal Depression.
She is married, a mum to two kids (one of each kind), and she tolerates her two neurotic cats for the sake of her family.
Her books have been published in Ireland (North and South) and Norway.
