After a long break from reading comics I got back into it by reading the central Civil War series. I then read, among other things, Iron Man: Extremis and since then Iron Man has been my favourite Marvel title.

Civil War: Iron Man is a great read but I dare say you'd need to read a couple of things before to get the full effect, those being Extremis and the main Civil War series. That said, this book is still one of the better Iron Man titles.

My main gripe with it is that I don't think it fleshes certain aspects of Stark's involvement in the events as much as it should. Unless you're a *very* avid reader of Iron Man then the stuff involving what happens to Happy Hogan will be lost on you. I think the bit that stands out the most is The Confession chapter at the end. Those few pages say more about Stark/Iron Man than just about anything else in the whole Civil War arc. It shows how, despite his arrogance, he is still human and still makes mistakes... in this case, a big one.

All in all a good read but brush up on your Marvel Universe knowledge first to get the most out of it.

I started the Civil War storyline with this book... it really sucked me in and I'm still reading all the side stories. Overall excellent read and pretty much a must have. I hope they make a movie some day.

Having read the main Civil War and found it very enjoyable I was eager to read and collect the rest of the series. Civil War: Iron Man was the next to add to my collection. Let's just say I was not disappointed! Fantastic illustrations and a great persective on the Civil War from Iron Mans view. Can't wait to get the rest! A must for any Marvel fan.
