1.0 out of 5 stars Poor quality maps and information 30 Oct 2013

Afraid I have to agree with a lot of people who have already written a review of this app.

It is poor quality compared to Google maps. The downloadable maps are out of date and the colour choices for some of the roads means they disappear into parks.

I downloaded the map of Bath (where I live) and would find it difficult to get around using it.

Also some of the POIs are in the wrong place.

UK map has national parks but only a few. Dartmouth and Exmouth are both missing along with many others.

I would not recommend this product.

4.0 out of 5 stars Handy International A-Z 30 Oct 2013

Not sure why there are so many negative feedbacks for this app. Yes, you do need to download the maps you want....the clue is in the title, OFFLINE Map and Travel Guide. This app basically turns your tablet into an A-Z for major cities. It doesn't need an internet connection to view the maps so is useful for those of us that only have wifi connections, or that have 3G but do not want to incur huge data bills while roaming. Also not sure why some people say the screenshots are misleading as mine looks identical hot those shown. All in all not the best mapping app out there but useful if travelling abroad and do not want to be online to find your way around.

1.0 out of 5 stars good effort BUT!! 4 Nov 2012

Clear and easy to read and OK if you have no internet access. BUT when zoomed in many street names missing, no smooth scrolling, and not a patch on Google maps.

I know its not the best mapping app BUT it doesn't need an internet connection so its beauty is when you're abroad, just download the city, area or country you're visiting before you go.

4.0 out of 5 stars Verry good when you are abroad without internet 31 Oct 2013

I would like to say that this app is very usefull when you are abroad with no internet.
I am completly against paying roaming charge and even if people are saying that map are not updated, it's always better than no map.

My only problem is more about an old version of this app supplied by Amazon. Why does Amazon only let you download outdated version ( 3.6.15 ) whereas on Google play you can get version 3.6.31
This comment is not only valid for this app but lots of Android App downloaded on Amazon app!

1.0 out of 5 stars Not good! 10 Nov 2012

I would have been gutted if I paid £1.99 for this app. I loaded the Birmingham city map with a view of locating Summer Lane - there are 4 and to locate the correct one I have had to go into each of them individually as there is no obvious way to filter immediately by post code. what makes this particularly bad is that if I was stranger to Birmingham this would be even more frustrating as I would not have a clue which one I needed!

on the plus side the maps are easy to read and it has on the face of it good points of interest information and this is the only reason I will keep the app, this may change if I need to free up space on my KF.

1.0 out of 5 stars shame 30 Oct 2013

This really is painfully slow and cumbersome. Takes forever to load, then, if you swipe or pinch the map a little bit, it stutters and freezes. Am using a Note 10.1 so it should be fairly snappy. Other map apps load super fast. I think the development team needs to to take another look at this. I'll wait for an update before uninstalling though.. just in case.

1.0 out of 5 stars Pathetic 4 Nov 2012

I will not compare this app to google maps unlike other commentors and will just try and give my honest opinion. Maps themselves are very poor. Downloading region around a specific town in the UK is nearly impossible jnless you download entore countu or nearest big city that happens to include hour area.
Once you do download the map, its quality is beyond poor. Maximum zoom level of the map doesnt show most small streets. And the ones you do see are not labeled. Map tiles dont merge well leaving jagged edges and broken text. Roads disappearing into nowhere until you change zoom level and even then half are not there.
I am not surprised this app is popular on Apple devices. Considering it has to compete woth Apple maps, I guess a mapping app that shows only some streets is better than a mapping app that shows all streets but in the wrong place.
