Book Description

The longed-for latest instalment in the bestselling City Girl series.

Product Description

Devlin, Caroline and Maggie. Women in their prime. They have it all. Careers. Success. Marriage. They are the envy of their peers. But at what price?

Just when Devlin has everything she has ever dreamed of, a callous betrayal shows her that there's no room for friendship and loyalty in business. Can she be as tough as she needs to be in a world of deceit and double-dealing, where honesty and integrity are rare commodities?

Caroline, fed up being a victim, is no longer shy, unsure and needy. She's about to take a step that will change her life. Then tragedy strikes, and her plans change completely. But when one door closes...another opens.

And Maggie, alone, unsupported and unhappy in her marriage, has to make a choice that will put her children's needs before her own. Has she the strength to do what she has to do?

City Lives is the story of three women who have one great certainty in their lives. Their friendship. The enduring bonds of loyalty and love will carry them through the worst of times and the best of times.

Couldn't put it down! 22 Nov 2001
By A Customer
Format:Paperback
I have to disagree with the disappointing reviews from some of the other readers. I also have read and enjoyed both City Girl and City Woman and wasn't sure what to expect from the third installment. However, I was pleasantly surprised. I read this book in only a few days, staying up far too late on consecutive nights in the process. Yes, it was predictable in a few places and yes, Devlin and Luke's perfect marriage did want to make me puke occassionally, but all in all I thought it was a great book and well written, with many surprises along the way!

Format:Paperback
I found that this book was well written and very easy to read. The characters lives were well developed with some interesting twists, it was nice to read that the characters lives worked out in the end, but through touch and go circumstances especially for Caroline. But this is what made the book interesting to read. Especially if you have read the first two books, city girl and city women. The only critism is that in some places the plot became predictable, but that is why the twists made the story change and surprise you. I recomend that if you read the first two books to go and read this one, it finishes off the trilogy. Another great book fom Patricia Scanlan and I hope she carries on writing!

Having read City Girl and City Woman I waited patiently for this instalment to be published - and it did not disappoint - I only wish the story would continue for the girls and their families

City Lives
The book itself was a good read and customers would definitely benefit from reading city girl and city woman first to get the full picture of the storyline in this book.

Oh My God!
After the extreme disappointment of City Girl, I thought I'd give this a read to see if the 3 girls perhaps developed some depth and excitement. How wrong I was!! Read more

Thin storylines
I don't that any of the characters in this trilogy had enough depth or substance to last the three books. Of them all, the first book was the best. Read more
