There is no question that the design harks back to old horology: the second hand with it's ring, the double arrow selector for the mode of the watch, the wonderful day indicator all bear testament to this. Behind the fascade is a very superior quartz movement (easily the most accurate I've owned) powered entirely by invisible solar cells (they are behind the partly translucent face). I still love its looks, 5 months on, but I haven't used the alarm much. Try to do that and you have to wait for the oh so slow analogue hands to go around and around to the alarm time, then set it, then come out of that mode. This takes ages to do - a good 3 minutes for a simple task - you'd hardly use it as a reminder! The dual time is perfectly implememnted, the calander funcion, telling the month instead of seconds by pointing around the bezel is unusual if pointless - you aren't going to forget what month it is, now are you? The quality is high enough to justify the price, with a complex clasp suited best to the larger wrist, a seemingly truly scratch proof face, and a nice heavy feel, with buttons that work as they should. All in all a good watch, if it is really more a looker than an easy to use watch.
