Superb Watch 15 Dec 2011
By John H
I bought this as a watch to wear for work. It is very smart but not flashy. It is IMO more comfortable than the version with a stainless steel band - and that is quite a bit dearer too (£75) ... That version does, to be fair, look very good but I found the steel band a bit too bright for my liking ... thus buying this one with it's leather strap..

The Atomic Clock timekeeping is great and really appealed to me. The watch is easy to set up and then with just daylight to work it the watch does the rest. It sets itself every night against the radio signal sent from the nearest the atomic clock so I can always be confident it's time is spot on.

This is the second Citizen Eco Drive AT watch I have bought ... both are well made and just, well, excellent - fine looks, build, price and accuracy ... I am glad I have not spent more when this brand does all I want ! It really is set up and leave ... I simply couldn't have asked for more ... I am very happy with my purchase.

This watch is very classy and a great 30th present. Citizen are a great manufacturer, would recommend any of their watches, this is the 2nd purchase of theirs. Great service too.

Last watch anyone ever needs... almost 10 May 2012

With all the functions built in to this piece, I have very few complaints about it. It is not too difficult learn the operations of the watch. There is a slight learning curve but it's really not that bad, I think it makes operating the watch that much more fun.
Nothing is perfect so I really had to dig deep to find these complaints, the only things I can think of are as follows:

Switching functions does take a while. This flaw is inherent to multiple time zone functions, since the hands have to sweep over to the new zone. If you're switching to somewhere with a 7 hour time difference, well, it's to be expected so I wouldn't fault the watch for that.

This issue also comes in with setting the alarm, if the current alarm setting is 6 hours back you'll have to wait for the hands to sweep all the way over to that time so setting an alarm is not always quick. I think if they would have built the alarm setting function onto the 24 hour sub-dial instead it would have eliminated that issue. Also, the alarm volume is what you'd expect from any analog watch, I personally don't rely on watch alarms to wake me up in the morning.

And lastly, one thing I could ask for is a unidirectional bezel, though I understand that is usually reserved for divers. I find it more practical than a tachymeter since tachymeters have such a narrow scope of application (i.e. if my speedometer was broken in my car and I need to know my speed on the highway, or if I want to know how many sandwiches I can make in an hour). In my opinion using a unidirectional bezel as a timer is much more practical. Citizen could've just added a unidirectional bezel to the outside of the tachymeter. Then it would be the ultimate watch. You can always use the chronograph as a timer but I just think turning a bezel is faster and more functional because I can mark exactly what time I started a task instead of having to remember when I started it.

Overall, this watch has so many functions that it makes up for it's very few flaws. This watch looks much nicer in person. I also had a little piece of shiny material on one of the subdials on my particular watch, it's so tiny and doesn't float around so I'm not worried about it affecting function. I decided not to return it because that little cosmetic flaw kind of makes my particular watch unique if I ever run accross the same watch on somebody else.
Too many positives to list. If you like a watch packed with features, this is the watch for you. Lume is great, still glows when I wake up in the morning. Also, there are plenty of leather or rubber straps available for the 24mm lug size so if you don't like the straps on this model don't let that stop you. The current one is skinny for my taste so I ordered wider straps.

Excellent dress watch!!! 7 April 2012
By Q. T. Vo - Published on Amazon.com
I bought this watch because I need a dress watch that had both atomic synchronizing and solar-powered features! I've worn metal band and plastic band for years now and the leather band on this watch is very comfortable! It is made of good quality leather, yet is very supple! I love the dial that shows both am and pm time, the day of the week, the date and the time zone that it uses to sync with the atomic clock in Colorado! This watch is bigger than any of my previous watch, but fits just fine on my wrist (7 inches). It is thinner than my sporty G-Shock, therefore not cluncky looking. It will also fit under my shirts' sleeves, ie, perfect for evening wear! I appreciate the sapphire glass very much, as I'm sure it will stand scratching under normal conditions. What I love about it is how clear it is! It really enhances the feel of the watch and makes it look very classy!

For those like me who live very far from Colorado (I live in Montreal, Canada, which is more than 1800 miles away), you might have trouble getting the watch to sync during the day because interferences. I've tried to synch it manually several times after opening the box (during the day) unsuccessfully. I've done some digging about this and found out that there's a lot of interferences during the day (weather conditions, sunlight, higher cell phone usage, etc.) All I had to do was to put this watch near a window, facing West at night and in the morning, it was perfectly synched! I've tested it with my atomic Casio watch, as well as the atomic internet time and they all display perfect time now! Aside from setting the time zone to where I am, I did not have to set anything else. After leaving the watch in the sun for one day (to recharge the battery) and one night (to sync it), everything about it was automatically set by the next day (time, date, am or pm, day of the week, etc.). Truly, any technology advanced enough is indistinguishable from magic! :) All in all, I really love this maintenance-free watch that I simply need to wear!

Be sure to watch the mini-CD that comes with it, as it it not that easy at first to navigate the functions. The interactive guide is quite helpful! In my case, finding how to set the time zone was all I needed to do. The rest is done automatically with the synching at night.
