As somebody who enjoyed the occasional Dick Francis romp, I thought I'd give this a go.
What a mistake to make. It's completely derisable - sorry Charlie, but it will take more than the support of Cams and the rest of the Chipping Norton set to get this one off the ground!

Boring! 9 July 2011
By Motto
Format:Paperback
I struggled with this book, it made tedious reading, the characters were terrible stereotypes and I found it a chore to read. Surprising really, because Charlie Brooks seems like such a fun character and I am into horse racing big time. I would advise to not waste one's money and stick with Dick Francis. Sorry, but that's the way it is.

By Fiona Massey VINE™ VOICE
Format:Paperback|Amazon Vine™ Review (What's this?)
I must admit, I read the first two chapters of this, and realised that it wasn't my kind of book (Sorry)
I'm impressed with it, but not enough to keep reading it to the end.
It's a decent enough storyline, good characters and a decent enough plotline, but to me, it is the sort of book that I would read sat near a pool, in the sun.
If I had read it on holiday, my concentration and review would have probably been more for this book, but at the time of reading, two chapters and three stars is that best I could give this book.

Unlike 'P. Gray', I found the book thoroughly enjoyable. For me, it compared more than favourably with Francis (to whom I could never warm) or the ghosts of Francome. Read more
