5.0 out of 5 stars Thrashtastic 1 Dec 2009
By Soze
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
Probably my favourite of this so called new wave of thrash (alongside Municipal Waste). Gama Bomb have the energy of a Nuclear Assault and seem far more edgy than a lot of the newer thrash bands. This album is a real moshers delight, the songs are short, sharp, fast and thrashy with great riffs and a distinctive vocalist, recommended for any fan of 80`s thrash!

Awesome album, awesome live band, just awesome! Can't pick a stand out track as they're all fantastic. If you haven't got this album, buy and if you haven't seen them live, shame on you!

2.0 out of 5 stars probably more 2.5 out of 5 29 May 2009

irish and thrash, this is who gama bomb are, they are trying to recreate the magic of the 80s with this thrash-tastic feast, trouble is,they dont really stand out in the way that some of the other young kickstarts do,a la evile for example.
To be fair gama bomb have some glorious riffs, the comedy lyrics are fine at first but will certainly lose their novelty in the end,my fave track on the album is 'ocp' which contains quotes from one of my fave films, robocop, trouble is,the song barely lasts a minute,a few of the tracks stand out while others all bleed into each other and identity is lost, worth a wee gamble perhaps.

5.0 out of 5 stars very good retro thrash 5 July 2008
By Doug Edwards - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
WOW these guys are good it is like 1985 or 86 and thrash was in full swing this stuff will give early Anthrax or Death Angel a run for their money and these guys are way young too so wait till they have 10 years and 4 or 5 albums under their bullet belts
watch out for these guys Smokin Hot Riffs indeed
this stuff would compete with anything done 20 years ago

Contains a spirit and humour that reminds me of old Anthrax. This album is pure fun and great rock and roll.

5.0 out of 5 stars Anthrax reborn? 11 July 2008
By B. Latronica - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
Crap this is good stuff. Not entirely original, like another reviewer said - they sound ALOT like early Anthrax. But that aint a bad thing. Songs are well produced and played with excellant musicianship.

Lots of humor, especially with songs like Zombie Blood Nightmare and Sentenced to Thrash and Bullet Belt. This is great speed metal/thrash!

If you love Anthrax, Death Angel, Slayer, Testament or Overkill, you'll love Gama Bomb!

5.0 out of 5 stars it's time to thrash like it's '86 1 Jan 2011

"It's time to fill the thrash vacuum...it's time to trash like it's '86" - Bullet Belt
If you're enjoying the SECOND COMING OF THRASH over the past several years as much as I am, then add this to the list. Upon first listen I ended up spinning this disc 5 times. First-rate thrash here and they sound fairly original, which can be hard in a genre with hundreds of great bands. As soon as I heard Bullet Belt the ol' brain said "who does that sound like..." and started cataloging thru 25 years of thrash music...after a couple minutes "oh yeah Atrophy!" The song sounds like it could have been on Violent By Nature.
RECOMMENDED for any fan of that classic thrash sound
WARNING: poseurs heads will explode immediately upon listening.

Note: the bonus DVD is rubbish unless you really like sandwiches & metronomes...don't pay more for it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Most promising new band I've heard in years. 9 Mar 2009
By N. Urich - Published on Amazon.com
With songs about Ninja Turtles, Robo-cop quotes and zombies these guys hardly take themselves seriously--but what they do very well is deliver on the thrash. Great riffs, great solos and tongue-in-cheek lyrics are these guys hallmark. Of all the bands of the "thrash revival" persuasion I've heard these fellows are by far my favorite. Above all things, these guys can PLAY and that's what they are here to do, entertain you with a very genre specific style that is fast, catchy, carries a melody and pays homage to the 80's without being cliche or copycat-ish. Give them a try! Face melting goodness!
