Format: Paperback
This is a book that though not religious illustrates the battle between good and evil. It plays upon the imagination of the reader unknowingly, as it does with the characters in the story.
The main characters in the story are involuntarily drawn into a web of intrigue and coupled with the twists and turns of the story makes the reader wonder if things will work out as he would want them to.
The young people seem to be leading normal lives that teenagers do. This is pictured, in one place with the detailed description of a football game.
Being normal highschoolers burdened with young adult leanings toward romance, there are moments that they act as they think adults would.
There are many twists in the story that will keep the reader interested and on his toes, such as a clergyman that has a battle with himself about faith, or a girl that can't seem to control herslf and is manipulated by another person, or Jobe who has problems of his own.
The book is well written and is well worth reading
I strongly recommend this book for those that like mysteries, and intrigue with a touch of science fiction.
My Thoughts on Circa 19 Nov. 2003

Format: Paperback
As a constant reader of the horror genre (King, Straub, Koontz, et.al.), I am often rather close-minded to the works of more independent authors and generally do not purposely read shorter novels. However, I was very intrigued by the way the author constructed the first chapter, it immediately set a mood and tone for the story that followed and left the reader wanting more. The book melds an interesting array of horror, science fiction, religion and romance interwoven through the age-old battle of good vs. evil.
I very much enjoyed the character development in this book and what would happen to each character as their faith and determination was tested by the unfolding events. In particular, I was intrigued by the character of Jobe as the "harbinger" of evil and the powerful attraction he held over a number of townfolk.
I would recommend this book without hesitation and am glad I took a chance on reading it. I was fortunate enough to enjoy an on-line webchat with the author after reading the book and learn more about him and the inspirations behind the story.
You won't be disappointed 19 Nov. 2003

I am an avid reader of fictional horror and murder etc. I have to admit I normally do not get books unless someone recommends them to me from authors I do not know, but since this was recommended gave it a chance and was extremely glad I did.
The book is full of riveting and graphic scenes that has the reader in suspense the whole time. You are cheering, crying out and it is full of plot twists and character turns.
I dont want to give any of it away but this book is a must read for anyone who loves the ones that you cant guess where it is going until the end. Trust me when I say you will love this book.
Promising effort! 21 Nov. 2003

After I read it, my most strong feeling was that I would have liked to know more, not about what happened after the book ended, but little things along the "quest". That's probably because I'm an avid Stephen King fan, and I'm not used to books that have a rushed feeling, lol!
Anyway, it has a lot of promise, and some powerful, and scary, images, and I recommened it to every friend of horror stories. I personally wait for his next shot in the genre, with hopefully more relaxed pacing. Good show, anyhow!

I am not an author so I feel a bit intimidated even trying to find words to describe the talent Mr. Fisher has. As a fan I own every book he has penned and I have yet to be disappointed, each book beckons you to read it again and again. To say Circa is a "page turner" would be a cliché but I must say it anyway. I am already looking forward to the next adventure Mr. Fisher takes on through his true gift of words.
