A comprehensive tome that's strong on both fundamental concepts and practical production. The latter is targeted to very fat production budgets but still helpful. It's a book I find myself sometimes skimming [due to experience and other reading] but more often I find myslef reading in great deatil to get my head around something I've been wanting to know for ages -- understanding colour- and vector-scopes for example.
The DVD has got a couple nice hints and would be a great help to get somebody ready for set for the first time, especially if they are going to be handling lights, mic or clappeer board. The DVD too is geared towards a well funded project but useful. The related website is a little clunky for registration but the content looks helpful. Also if you go to [...] there are options to buy a digital version and/or see some sample pages.
