Product Description

The classic fairytale of Cinderella is boldly re-imagined in a modern and original style for the 21st century.

In a land ruled by dark magic, Ella's life is changed forever by her evil stepmother, and nothing will ever be the same again.

After joining a group of mercenaries known as the 'White Rats', Ella meets Arran, a man embarking on a quest to save the Kingdom.

But in a land full of secrets, magic and unimaginable creatures, does this tale really end happily ever after...?

Cinders - The True Legend is a new original version of the classic fairytale, Cinderella, and tells the true story of a young woman named Ella.

You may be familiar with the traditional bedtime story of Cinderella, but what if Ella was prevented from ever going to the ball, and that fateful meeting with the Prince?

When Ella's step mother is revealed as a witch, she uses her dark magic to stop Ella going to the ball, and from anyone else helping her. This action will set into motion a series of events that will change the land forever.

Years later after that pivotal night, Ella's step mother is now the Queen, ruling the land by the fear of her enchanted army that seems unstoppable.

Ella has become a mercenary, fighting for the freedom of the Kingdom. A chance encounter with a young man named Arran, a friend of the Prince, now in hiding, launches Ella on a quest across the kingdom in search of a mysterious being known only as, 'The Spirit'.

With the help of her friends and fellow mercenaries they must face unknown dangers and creatures.

But will destiny run true, can Ella free the land and save the Prince, can there really be a happy ending?

This is the True Legend.

Modern fairytale 21 Feb 2011
By daisyduck1976 TOP 500 REVIEWER
Format:Kindle Edition
This is a modern re-working of the classic Cinderella story. However, it still has quite an old-world, fairytale style to it. In this version, fate intervenes and Cinderella (Ella in this tale) never meets her prince as planned. The story proceeds by revealing how Ella tackles the hand that fate has dealt her.

Ella is written as a strong, female character who takes control of her own destiny. The wicked stepmother is wicked indeed, and the mysterious Arran is brave and noble with something to hide.

If you are looking for a fairytale with a happy-ever-after that the heroine grabs hold of on her own terms, then this is for you. It would be suitable for adults who remember fairytales fondly or for children still loving them for the first time. It's a nice change to have a traditional style story that moves away from the notion that the female's role is to be beautiful and helpless, waiting for a handsome prince to save her. If you have a young daughter, I recommend this as an antidote to all the Sleeping Beauty, Rapunzel and Cinderella tales.
