Worry not, Disney fans--this special edition DVD of the beloved Cinderella won't turn into a pumpkin at the strike of midnight. One of the most enduring animated films of all time, the Disney-fied adaptation of the gory Brothers Grimm fairy tale became a classic in its own right, thanks to some memorable tunes (including "A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes," "Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo," and the title song) and some endearingly cute comic relief.
We all know the story--the wicked stepmother and stepsisters simply won't have it, this uppity Cinderella thinking she's going to a ball designed to find the handsome prince an appropriate sweetheart, but perseverance, animal buddies, and a well-timed entrance by a fairy godmother make sure things turn out all right. There are a few striking sequences of pure animation--for example, Cinderella is reflected in bubbles drifting through the air--and the design is rich and evocative throughout. It's a simple story padded here agreeably with comic business, particularly Cinderella's rodent pals (dressed up conspicuously like the dwarf sidekicks of another famous Disney heroine) and their misadventures with a wretched cat named Lucifer. There's also much harrumphing and exposition spouting by the King and the Grand Duke. Cinderella is one of the best timeless classics that appeal to all ages and I couldn't wait to buy the DVD for my daughters, but I was told by a local store that it wouldn't be released on DVD for some time so I had to settle for the video. I was dissapointed but when I received my video from this seller I was pleasantly surprised! It was the digitally remastered copy still in its celaphane wrapper with the disney hologram and the quality is GREAT! Next time I need to buy a video I know exactly where to go.

After having spent hours trying to track down Cinderella (DVD). I reluctantly had to settle for the video, not expecting too much. However two days later a small package arrived. As me and my daughter sat down to watch "the real" Cinderella I was pleasently surprised. The picture and sound quality was absolutely amazing, after getting used to DVD's. I really enjoyed this film it definatly took me back to my childhood days!!. Now I'm not quite sure who is more tired of this film me or my daughter. My faith in video's has definatly been restored. And I would highly recommend this Disney Classic to all ages it is definatly good fun to watch (over and over again!!!!). I am sure we will never get tired of it.

I'm a massive disney fan as it stands anyway but I was so excited to see a "Royal Edition" of one of my favourites. So, what's different about this version? This edition has a "Disney Enhanced Home Theatre Mix" which is great fun and music videos that you might not have seen before - for any Disney fan this is wonderful to see (Almost like a behind-the-scenes experience).
As for the movie though it's exactly the same, as it should be in my opinion. I'd recommend this classic but if you already have an older copy I wouldn't worry about getting this one. If you're new to Cinderella or looking for a nice gift idea for children then this is a brilliant movie to invest in.
