Seriously disappointing. 19 May 2014
By michelle corum - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover Verified Purchase
The best thing in this book are the sketches of the clothes from popular icons in the fashion world, that are on the inside of the front and back covers. However, the whole book is only about 10 pages so it seriously falls short in the storytelling and emotion category of evoking any response from the reader at all as Cinderalla typically does. There's not even time to get into the story because it's like an abbreviated version! Cinderella wears rags, cleans fireplaces, stepsistes get invited to a ball, cinderella gets her fair godfather. She goes to the ball, dances with the prince and runs out at midnight. The prince tries to find the girl who lost the glass slipper and he does! There's not even time to dislike the evil stepmother or awful stepsisters. There's like maybe 10-20 words on each page... disappointed. Would not recommend and would not purchase if I had read it beforehand. Gave it 2 stars because someone put in some cool drawn art and it is made well.

our kids enjoy Steven Guarnaccia's books. Cinderella was a hoot from an adult's perspective. we will keep an eye out for further books from the author.
Not as Creative as it could be 24 Nov. 2014

I had expected more from this version of Cinderella as I have read many better rewrites of this fairy tale. It does not really add that many clever touches to the story and the illustrations were just ok.
