Ciaran Murtagh is a writer and actor. His new book Genie in Training is out in April 2012.
His first book, Dinopants, was published by Piccadilly Press in 2009 and spawned three sequels - one more than Toy Story. He also writes TV shows and has recently been involved with scripting The Slammer, The Legend of Dick and Dom, Scoop, Hotel Trubble, Casper's Scare School, The 4 O'Clock Club, Diddy Movies, Mr Bloom's Nursery and Planet Ajay. His latest adult sitcom is currently optioned by Hat Trick. He regularly appears in TV shows for CBBC and can be seen in all four series of The Slammer.
He lives in London with his wife and secret sweetie cupboard and has a lovely daughter called Eleanor. He is an unapologetic fan of the music of a-ha and still sucks his thumb. It is unclear which of these two facts is more embarrassing to his friends and family.
