Book Description

18 Aug 2006
The ground-breaking "A Churchless Faith" shared lessons learned from groups seeking to work with people who had left churches but continued to pursue journeys of faith. "Church Leavers: Five Years On" follows up those originally interviewed. This illuminating study investigates whether these individuals have reconnected with church, or whether they have formed or found other meaningful faith groups. It considers their current beliefs and practices, and compares and contrasts their views on prayer, mission, church, human nature, leadership, the Bible and God. This important book will be of much interest to church leavers and, indeed, to anyone concerned about the future of the church - whether involved in research, pastoral ministry, shaping emergent forms of church or spiritual direction. "Church Leavers" challenges each of us to examine where we are on the journey of faith. It opens our eyes to the many diverse and exciting ways in which we may experience growth, if we earnestly seek to follow Christ.
