5.0 out of 5 stars Worth every penny!, 18 Feb 2004
By Ian Clark (Sussex) - See all my reviews
This handbook does exactly what it says on the cover! It is superb value for money, an immensely practical guide to fundraising for church buildings. Lots of case-studies and templates. Helps a church to create a long-term plan for optimising the resources of the building for the local community. Then it takes you through the process of drawing up a viable long-term financial plan, with lots of help on alternative funding sources.

Whilst the main focus is on ongoing viability of the buildings using secular sources, there is useful advice on planned giving from church members for ongoing ministry as well. The chapter on conducting a review of church finances should be required reading for every priest and treasurer.

The author, Revd Maggie Durran, is a former parish priest who has worked extensively with English Heritage and churches across the diocese of London. She has also written extensively on all-age worship!
