Quite frankly, you will either love or hate it, so I would recommend you sample the album before you buy it. This is also not typical Dredg, who themselves have said that this is a one-off experimental album, so if you're looking to choose an album to discover the band this isn't it.

As it happens, I really like this album, and I admire that they're willing to explore this different side of themselves. It caught me off guard at first, particularly with the intro of 'Another Tribe'. The album is oddly captivating however, the lyrics are thoughtfully introspective as the previous reviewer has mentioned, and I personally find the 'pop' style beats addictive. No master-piece by any means, but I've found myself listening to the album more and more. I'm giving it 4 stars because although I like this album a lot, it still doesn't quite feel complete and doesn't make full use of the talent Dredg have at their disposal. Still, this isn't an album to ignore until you've tried it out.

The last album of "dregd" (Chuckles And Mr. Squeezy) is a dangerous approach to pop music. The group lost its sound on this record, but also his personality and essence. Where are the guitars and strong but elegant sound of the band? If a group makes a radical change in his music is better to create a new band. Only a few songs are really good and after the fantastics "Pariah .." , "Catch Without Arms" and "El cielo" is striking the low level of this album. Not only for its more commercial orientation and Pop, but his songs are far worse than in previous albums. I hope to be themselves again in their next album.

TWO YEARS SINCE THE FANTASTIC "THE PARIAH " ALBUM THIS TALENTED AMERICAN BAND IS BACK WITH THEIR FIRST RELEASE FOR A NEW LABEL "SUPERBALL MUSIC".DREDG,IT'S IN MY OPINION,THE MOST UNDERRATED ART ROCK GROUP IN THE PAST DECADE."CHUCKLES & MR.SQUEEZY" IT'S MUCH MORE ELECTRO POP ORIENTED WITH THE USUAL ALTERNATIVE,PSYCHEDELIC ,JAZZ AND PROG ROCK INFLUENCES.THE VOCAL LINES ARE VERY MELODIC ,SENSITIVE AND INTROSPECTIVE WRITTEN.THIS CD MAY NOT BE AS GOOD AS THE 2009 OPUS BUT STILL IT'S A SOLID PIECE OF MUSIC.GREAT STUFF!BUY IT!
