Format:Audio CD
I already owned most of Shakin' Stevens greatest but there were 3 songs
lacking and which I wanted to have at any price: "I Might", "Yes I Do"
and "My Cutie Cutie". Those weren't available on Shaky's "The Collection".
These 3 songs, all wonderful and genuine rock & roll goodies, made me
buy it (again)I must also say that this complete compilation is really
a bargain because it includes his greatest Christmas hits as well.
A real must for rock & roll revival lovers!

Shaky's latest hits offering comes our way in this fantastic double disc set. Originally to be released with a naff sleeve, nothing remastered and a tired title of 'Oh Julie', this compilation was saved by the involvement of Shaky himself. And what a blessing it was! We got a dignified release complete with classy artwork, ALL tracks remastered (from the DVD release The Collection) and placed in order of release. The only UK Epic singles not on this compilation are Endless Sleep, Treat Her Right, Spooky, Hey Mae and Shooting Gallery (which the latter pair did chart but very low). The Christmas releases have been tagged on the end of Disc 2 in their own section. It's worth a note that the single 'True Love' featured on here is the extended version.
To compile this compilation in order of release gives it an interesting listening pleasure as we go through the years, in order, with Shaky as his career changed with production and style. There are hidden gems here not featured on the massive selling 'The Collection' such as 'Love Attack', 'I Might', 'My Cutie Cutie', 'How Many Tears Can You Hide' and 'The Best Christmas Of Them All'. Their are a few lesser choices such as 'Pink Champagne' and 'True Love'.
However, this does remain an absolutley 'must have' for any Shaky completest. The price is a snip too. For any casual Shaky tourist I would recommend 'The Collection' for the cream of the crop.

There have been several greatest hit collections from Shaky over the years but this works so well with me as it's all in date order. I just lost myself in the memories that came flooding back as each song played. Shaky was THE artist of the 80's and his strong body of work proves that no-end. I can't see anyone but fans buying this as most casual fans would have bought the platinum GH collection out 2 years ago. But its bliss all the same.

Shakin`Stevens was almost one of those one hit wonders for me. You hardly ever hear his music, and when you do it`s either This Ole House or Green Door. Read more
