As a guide for Chrono Cross's completion, this will provide you with all you need to know and more. Dan Birlew and Ken Schmidt are exceptional guide authors, Dan Birlew notably having worked on Brady Games's Vagrant Story guide too. The guide is clearly presented, written and annotated, with superb colour pictures throughout, done by Dan's wife no less.
The the enemy chart is thorough, the character section is comprehensive and exhaustive, including excellent information for recruiting all 40+, and how to get all their tech elements, the equipment creation charts are perfect. It even covers the games basics well, especially compared with the game's limited US manual, so if you find any part of the game's engine tough it will help you on this too. The walkthru covers everything (quite rare for official guides), and more importantly covers it well.
If, like me, you buy guides for reference use, not to play games through by, this is a lovely book, if you're struggling in Chrono Cross, its essential. My only qualm is that the secrets are litered through the walkthrough, not categorised, and there are still bits of info missing, a doppelgang list for Sprigg etc, but it is still one of the most comprehensive official guides I have read.
