Book Description

From the bestselling Kindle authors, Carolyn McCray and Ben Hopkin, comes the heartwarming tale of a family torn apart by fate but reunited by their dog for Christmas.

Praise for A Christmas Tail...

"This is a beautiful, magical story for children, especially, if they are dog lovers..As an owner of three adorable dogs myself found this "Tail" to be charming...It kind of reminded me when I was a little girl reading "Heidi" for the first time or seeing the 1974 movie, "Benji"...The unconditional love that "Sophie" the terrier brings to the story is very heartwarming and children may want you to read this story over again....Plus, I like that the book is written from the dog's perspective at times....You often wonder what goes on in their minds because their are so faithful and attach almost immediately..... Just delightful...."

"A wonderful Christmas story that will delight all ages! Full of excitement, adventure, hope and love. A family's belief in each other and for each other. It will not disappoint."

Overview:

A turn of the century shipwreck leaves two children orphaned. Destined for the brutal, sooty New York streets, only their dog, Sophie, can save both them and Christmas!

More praise for A Christmas Tail...

"If I could I'd give this book a lot more stars. It hit on all your feeling, happy, sad, furious and everything in-between. I wanted to climb into the book and help those kids. Not going to say anymore but it's a great book to buy whether you are young or old."

"This was a heartwarming and exciting story about love and redemption. I like how you experience the events through the eyes of the children and also from Sophie, the dog's perspective. I think that all who read this will be touched by the lesson that Tommy learned from experiencing the compassion and generosity he received from the poor street cleaning boys and the reuniting of the "lost" uncle and Tommy's dad."

4.0 out of 5 stars Lovely story 17 Nov. 2013
By Karon
Format:Kindle Edition
I received this from the author as a review copy.
It was a lovely story which I read in an afternoon. It had a lovely Christmasy feel as well as a slight feeling of Dicken's Oliver Twist.
It was well written and edited and was a good heartwarming read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Well Worth Reading 22 Oct. 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
I enjoyed this book from beginning to end. It had some lovely characters who each had something to learn in this story. A young girl has a lesson in faith, a young boy has a lesson about how being wealthy doesn't make you a better person than a poor person. A man has to pull his sorry self together in order to help the children who have been separated from their parents during a ship wreck they are on. There are corrupt police, horrid orphanage staff, a bully on the streets, and amongst them all is the family dog Sophie. It was a unique feature of the book to have the dogs point of view portrayed too, very novel, and very sweet. I laughed in places, I cried in others, and I also wanted to jump into the story to punch the horrid people the children had to deal with. I was engrossed totally in the story and definitely recommend it. It would be a perfect story to read to your children this Christmas, but is equally enjoyable for adults like myself.

I have never ready any of Ben Hopkin's Christmas stories before...This is a beautiful, magical story for children, especially, if they are dog lovers..As an owner of three adorable dogs myself found this "Tail" to be charming...It kind of reminded me when I was a little girl reading "Heidi" for the first time or seeing the 1974 movie, "Benji"...The unconditional love that "Sophie" the terrier brings to the story is very heartwarming and children may want you to read this story over again....Plus, I like that the book is written from the dog's perspective at times....You often wonder what goes on in their minds because their are so faithful and attach almost immediately.....

The Holden family are on their way to New York for Christmas due to unforseen circumstances they will all become separated....Some tragically lost at Sea.."Sophie" survives and ends up in New York..You follow her adventures has she tries to pick up the childrens' scents and tries to find them before it's to late..She just maybe the "Christmas Miracle" the Holden family has been looking for....

Just delightful....
