1.0 out of 5 stars Christmas stories?, 19 Aug 2008

I bought this for my almost 3 year old and don't really think that some of the stories are suitable. 2 of them are about "crooks" and stealing presents and jewels. The Police appear in the stories more than Rudolph.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great christmas reading, 21 Nov 2008
I must disagree with the previous review. I bought this book two years ago for my 4-year-old and he loved it. He is now 6 and is still asking for the stories. What is wrong with having a baddy who gets caught by the police? (in one of the stories) Yes, there is a moral value behind the particular story that involves a villain and the police but what is wrong with stories that reflect right from wrong?

1.0 out of 5 stars disappointing from Usborne, 19 Jan 2009
I usually like the books that Usborne publish but found this one fell well below par.
The stories are corny - no humour or innocence - just obvious and crassly presented morals. The illustrations aren't great and I agree with previous reviewer that 'crooks' and Santa making comments like 'we'll have to send these darned Alfie dolls' aren't appropriate / necessary in a book aimed at young children. My 2 and a half year old gets bored and flips pages (which suits me fine) - not something he often does. A waste of money.
