Product Description

Top singer and actress OLIVIA NEWTON-JOHN (Grease, Xanadu) and GREGORY HARRISON (Robin Cook's 'Mortal Fear', Trapper John, M.D.) play a couple who strike up the unlikeliest of romances in this charming and heart-warming tale.

Julia Stonecypher (Newton-John) has recently lost both her husband and her job. She s a popular resident of a small country community, but the coming Christmas holidays already look pretty bleak for Julia and her two daughters. But then things begin to get worse! Brian Harding (Harrison), the vice-president of the local bank, turns up in a snowstorm to inform Julia that her house is being repossessed and that she and her daughters will be homeless.

A car accident and the inclement weather, however, conspire to keep Brian in the Stonecyphers lives for considerably longer than he would like! Fuelled by their enforced close proximity in the isolated house and the atmosphere of Christmas, an unlikely romance develops between Julia and Brian. But as the snowstorm passes and Brian is free to leave, will this new-found love continue into the New Year... and beyond?

Julia's daughters are played by STEPHANIE SAWYER (who played Willa in the adventure movie The River Wild) and CHLOE LATTANZI (Olivia Newton-John s real-life daughter with her former husband, actor Matt Lattanzi). A CHRISTMAS ROMANCE is based on the novel of the same name by MAGGIE DAVIS, with a teleplay by DARRAH CLOUD (O, Pioneers, A Holiday Romance). The director is SHELDON LARRY (At the End of the Day: The Sue Rodriguez Story).

4.0 out of 5 stars excellent picture quality 16 Mar 2008
Olivia Newton-John is charming as ever and I have to commend picture quality of this DVD as often with small movies and small studios picture quality is not really what it should be but not here, it's excellent.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Nice Christmas film. 22 Oct 2002
Format:VHS Tape
Olivia Newton John Plays Julia StoneCypher a single mom struggling to raise her two young daughters after her husband's tragic death.
Unfortunately she's in debt and when the vice president of the bank comes to tell her that her home is being re-possessed she thinks her luck cannot get any worse.
It does when he gets involved in a car accident while trying to leave her home and the bad weather means that he is stranded at her home.
Although she wants to hate him Julia finds herself falling in love with him.
When the snow melts will he stay with her or will it be just a christmas romance?
A very funny and feel good christmas film.
Olivia stars alongside her real life daughter Chloe in this film.
If you are an olivia fan you need to add this to your collection.

Olivia Newton John gives us yet another charming christmas film, this time playing single mum Julia Stonecypher. Julia is up to her eyeballs in debt, struggling to cope raising her two young daughters without her husband, who has recently passed away. As a ruthless bayliff (Gregory Harrison) Is coming to snatch away her possesions leaving her and her kids homeless, for a while it looks like no christmas good will will come her way this year....
Until the debt collector gets injured in a snowstorm, and a bond forms between him and Julia.
There is also some very good acting from the children, ONJ's real-life daughter Chloe Lattanzi, who plays eldest daughter Deenie, and little Stephanie Sawyer who plays Emily Rose, now a huge child movie star. The scene where the two try to comfort their mum after she recieves the bad news is too touching for words.
I'd recmend this to anyone who wants a heatt-warming christmas family film.

3.0 out of 5 stars a lack lustre film 29 Dec 2012
Format:DVD|Amazon Verified Purchase
the film was ok but it seemed to lack something it was a gentle love story but to have the vice president of a bank to collect money that was owed seemed a bit far fetched but I did watch it all the way through
