Hanna and her sister grew up without any ‘Christmas Cheer’. She’s trying to get her sister through college and doesn’t have time to let anyone too close, especially the handsome single dad with a kid.
But, Christmas has a way of changing what we thought we wanted… especially when Santa and an adorable four-legged ‘elf’ are involved.

5.0 out of 5 stars Christmas Wishes 14 Nov. 2013

I was given this book in exchange for my honest review.
A sweet Christmas story about wishes coming true.
We meet Julian, a single father who is dealing with his son Gabe, who suffers from epilepsy. He is put in contact with Hanna who trains service dogs. Hanna sees how much a dog would help Gabe and tries to find a way to help Julian with the cost of a service dog. You start to see the feelings grow between Julian and Hanna, and you see how much Cody is able to help Gabe, he is able to alert to the oncoming seizures. Gabe writes to Santa and asks for Cody for Christmas. Hanna is able to pull some strings and call in some favors with her boss. Gabe gets a special delivery from Santa for Christmas and Hanna and Julian are able to create new and wonderful memories together and a family.
A warm, and lovely story about Christmas wishes, letting go of past hurts and building new memories.

4.0 out of 5 stars Letters to Santa can come true. 12 Nov. 2013

*I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review*
The owner of a service dog named Cody and the father of a young boy with epilepsy fall in love during the Christmas season. Hannah has never had a "merry" Christmas and Julian's wife left him three years earlier because she was unable to deal with a child with epilepsy. The young boy named Gabe writes a letter to Santa asking for Cody for Christmas. Not only does Santa deliver Cody but Gabe and Julian get Hannah to move in with them. A heartwarming Christmas story.
5.0 out of 5 stars Helping Gabe through the love and care of a Service Dog 24 Nov. 2014

Julian Barrows is a single dad, raising his epileptic son, Gabe. He is referred to an agency that has service dogs that can help Gabe. Through the agency, he meets Hanna and the dog she has trained, and sees how the dog reacts when Gabe has a seizure. But the cost is very expensive. Julian and Hanna continue to meet and sparks fly. Can Santa help make Gabe's wish for Christmas come true.

I love Jennifer Conner's short stories--they always leave you with a feeling of hope. This one is no different as it deals with a single dad, his son who suffers from epilepsy, a 'seizure' dog, and his trainer. It's a sweet love story and brings awareness to these special animals (and the people who train them). All in all, a great holiday read! Well done, Ms. Conner!
