I wish I hadn't looked forward to receiving it!,

This review is from: Christmas With Frank and Bing (Audio CD)
How sad that two such wonderful singers should be remembered on a CD of such poor quality.I was so disappointed. The list of songs included was inspiring but unfortunately the recording ruined everything. Sometimes (obviously when a song had been taken from a compilation)the last word of the previous song could be heard before starting the new one.

This review is from: Christmas With Frank and Bing (Audio CD)
I ordered this mid-price album around eighteen months ago and even my two young children love it! from the christmas eve classic of Here Comes Santa Claus (Right Down Santa Claus Lane) to the woderful Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas to White Christmas (What Bing Album Doesn't Have It!) to O' Come All Ye Faithfull this CD is just two of the purist silky voices that have ever lived crooning out some of the best written christmas classics of all time. BUY IT! YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED.

It starts with "White Christmas", how bad can it be?,

The answer? Not very bad at all. It is THE Christmas song for me so I knew I couldn't go wrong!I haven't heard of some of the tracks before but this is not a bad thing - it's always good to have something new around Christmas time. There are plently of classic carols covered as well. Quibbles? Well, the songs sound very 1950s/1960s to me and it is a shame that there are no duets - with their back catalogues, it's also a bit of a surprise. Also, there are no details apart from whether it's Bing or Frank (see, on first name terms!) and the songwriter and copyright information. The "one Bing song, one Frank song" layout isn't exactly inspired either. Plus, the tinted and doctored front photo is fooling no one. But does this take away from the music? Not at all. And taking the cost of the CD, the songs and the singers together, I think it was well worth paying the Sterling difference! Is October too early to feel this Christmassy? Well, blame the CD and I've only gotten to track 3 (it was delivered to work!)
