5.0 out of 5 stars A rocking Christms CD 13 April 2009
Format:Audio CD
This is a really good Christmas CD for fans of rock and blues.

Good to have Keith Richard's "Run Rudolph Run" available on an official CD for the first time I believe. Other highlights include Rufas Thomas "I'll be your Santa baby" and Chesterfield King's "Hey Santa Claus"

Overall, no duff tracks on this album, some of which overlaps with the Christmas with the Kranks CD.

For me it is up there with the Phil Spector album and "A Very Special Christmas" Vol 1.

5.0 out of 5 stars Essential alternative 24 Dec 2012
Format:MP3 Download|Verified Purchase
Found this CD by chance while searching for the great Keith Richards version of run rudolph run. With the exeption of the latter there were only 2 other tracks I had heard before. The outstanding track in my opinion being the Ramones "merry xmas (i don't wnna fight tonight). If you are sick of band aid, shakin stevens and wham this is for you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Happy holidays indeed 11 Nov 2012
By Gra 53
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
Don't delay buy this today.
Like the Phil Spector album this will be a Christmas favourite for many years to come.
Compiled by Little Steven you just know the track selection will be good.
Kicking off with a rare Keith Richards track you are taken on a sleigh ride of
alternative Christmas songs (although Wizzard manages to be included).
Great tracks by Darlene Love, The Kinks,Clarence Carter and my favourite
'Jingle Bells' by the Electric Prunes plus artists and tracks you may never have
heard of.
Housed in a neat digi sleeve and originally released in 2008 this is a must for
any collection.
When all the mince pies have been eaten and the decorations taken down you
may not want to put this away.

Happy holidays.

5.0 out of 5 stars Christmas A Go Go 30 Jan 2009
Format:Audio CD
An excellent Christmas CD compiled by (Little) Steven Van Zandt, and a great alternative to the compilations of Christmas songs that have been heard to death. Highlights include Father Christmas by The Kinks, Keith Richards' great cover of Run Run Rudolph, Soupy Sales's Santa Claus Is Surfing To Town and Joe Pecsi, yes the actor, with his should be yuletide classic, If It Doesn't Snow At Christmas. Very highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Rockin' Xmas Funhouse! 3 Dec 2008
By Sans_A_Cause - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
This may be the coolest Xmas CD ever made (or maybe 2nd greatest, as Little Steven says on the cover wrap). From the craziness of Joe Pesci and Soupy Sales (they sing, folks) to the raunchiness of Clarence Carter's "Back Door Santa" to the tear-it-up of Keith Richards and The Kinks, this one smokes like a yule log. I put this on while preparing for a Christmas party and found myself dancing around while mopping the floors. It it can make mopping fun, it can make your holidays fun. Maybe you won't even need the Xanax this year! Buy it.

5.0 out of 5 stars If you stop and think about it, Christmas is really the most psychedelic time of the year. 30 Dec 2008

This Christmas CD was assembled by Little Steven Van Zandt. All the songs here are great. Most of the songs were previously recorded, but there are also some new songs recorded especially for this CD (some produced by Little Steven himself). Most of the older songs are pretty rare, although the songs by the Ramones, Clarence Carter and the Kinks aren't that hard to find. But you do get super rare songs by Keith Richards, Bob Seger, Darlene Love and Soupy Sales (of all people). This is the Christmas album of the year.

5.0 out of 5 stars 2nd Best Rockin' Christmas Record Ever!! 2 Jan 2012
By Smrz - Published on Amazon.com

What A Great Holidy Treat! Thank U, Little Steven, for the 2nd best Christmas Rockin' Record after, of course The Great Spector Chistmas Gift To You!! An incredible Killer selection of Tunes. Some of them can only be found now on this great cd. The incedible Keith Richards doing Run Rudolph Run which sounds like Chuck Berry but Keith got credit for it. Clarence Carter doing a great Back Door Santa, Roy Wood's Wizzard with the Great I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday, The Fab Four with Silent Night, Soupy Sales with Santa Claus Santa Claus Is Surfin' To Town and Joe Pesci is worried that it won't snow with If It Doesn't Snow On Christmas, The great Rufus Thomas with I'll Be Your Santa,Baby which is quite rare and very hard to find. The Kinks and their great Punk Rock Christmas single Father Christmas, which came out in 1977 during the year when Punk broke big in the UK. All in all, 20 great rockin' tunes for a very cool Yule. Well worth the price and I give you my very personal guarantee that you will be ecstatic!! Sincerely, SMRZ!!!
