Delightful and Enjoyable Read... 12 Jun 2006
By K. Johnson - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
I first read 'Christie and the Hellcat' on a fan fiction website and loved it so much I was anxious to buy it in paperback form. The talented Barbara Davies has delivered a delightful lesbian fiction story set in the Old West. It includes a wild cast of characters, including:

- Deputy Sheriff Zee Brodie, a breathtaking woman pardoned by the Governor for her crimes as the infamous Hellcat.

- Miss Christie Hayes, still an innocent who finds herself under the Hellcat's spell.

- Bluford Hayes, Christie's brother

- Fred Younger, Christie's wealthy yet spoiled (ex)fiance

- The ladies of the local brothel who are more human and caring than one might think.

- A colorful nun from a remote orphanage

- And many others

Davies brings all these folk together with a great synergy, keeping the reader interested and engaged through all four parts of the book. Each character has his or her own story within the book. Even so, Davies enlists her talent to pull the whole thing off without confusing the reader.

Very enjoyable book. Recommended accompaniments are a tall glass of sasparilla and a warm summer day.

Fun Western Adventure 6 May 2012
By Chris in D.C. - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Christie and the Hell cat is a fun Western. I agree with another reviewer that it had a wild cast of characters. You did have to suspend reality. A woman deputy in the old West at a time when our nation did not grant women the right to vote, and in some cases, own property, was the first unbelievable element. Zee, the former outlaw, Hellcat, did not pass herself off as a male, but assumed the role of deputy after a pardon from the Governor. She lives in the local brothel and is popular with the ladies who ply their trade there. The second element requiring suspension of belief was Christie falling for our sheriff after one kiss. If you can get past these elements of unreality, I think you will enjoy reading this story. There are plenty of gunfights, fistfights, and bad guys galore for Zee to fight. And don't think Christie is the meek and mild damsel in distress. She is one feisty lady too. Lots of romance and good loving.

Much more of this,Please? 17 Aug 2008
By Sunshine - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
This is what a great story is all about,it makes me always wondering why there are,so many writers, choose for
just simple a romantic story, and none of this.
I love this,it's about a tough girl, who get help from the sister of a guy, who's house she could use to hide, from
a couple desperadoes, because she has one of them arrested, but he isn't at home when she arrives at that address, instead a beautiful girl, opens the door.
What happens from that moment on,you have to read for yourself,so,I want to scream to all writers, more westerns, please,I really don't understand, why, nobody writes great stories like this, every lesbian likes Xena,it's
time, that rebel girls and tough to fight everyone are coming back!
My advise buying this book!
