Excellent , well written and researched. Informative about the history and development of Christian Zionism and Dispensationalism. If you have been questioning the doctrine of supporting the state of Israel and Dispensationalism this work will give you the information to prove that it is a man made doctrine and cultic by nature and the domain of the Talmudic Zionists rehashing Jewish supremacist dogma. 'Christian Zionism'is well researched and cited. One of the most clearest and easy to read book's on this subject. I have used it to great success arguing against Christian Zionism. Witnessed many set free from this delusion. A very damaging and dangerous doctrine as Christian Zionism denies the absolute necessity and sufficiency of Christ in salvation and replaces it with two redemption plans. One for Gentiles by faith and one for the Jew by birth or chosenness. Even the natural mind is able to discern that the New Testament clearly teaches that the middle wall of partition has been broken down and that there is neither Jew nor Greek. All are one in Christ Jesus. Unfortunately Christian Zionism [an Anti Christ doctrine]]is very cunning and appeals to those who clammer after signs and wonders, crystal ball gazers and tarot card shufflers counting down to Armageddon watching the BBC News. Those with itching ears and right wing Zionist's. This heresy denies that Jesus is the Christ the only way to salvation. 'No man comes to the Father except through me' [Jesus] Mr Sizer has been God ordained to write this exposee. A must read! Deserves to be in every Professors and students library. 10/10. I would like to recommend also Joseph M Cranfield,'The incredible Scofield and his book'. Very powerful biography of this questionable personality and crass opportunist.Read more ›

This book throws light on how Christian Zionism developed and why this system of belief can be such an impediment to those who support the human rights of the Palestinians.
The book discusses the political conclusions for Zionism and for those who believe from Biblical "authority" that Jesus will return in a cloud over Jerusalem and that God will reclaim his special land for all time to the advantage of those who follow His teaching as laid down in the prophecies of the Bible.
It is of particular interest to those Christians, myself included, who find it impossible to counter the argument of the fundamentalist who says you can't argue with what is laid down in Holy Writ.
The subject and history of Zionism is explored in depth and whilst not an easy read you may find you cannot put it down!
I regard this book as a healthy antidote to muddled thinking.
As Garth Hewitt of the Amos Trust says on the cover
"Stephen Sizer's masterly overview of Christian Zionism opens our eyes to a theology that manipulates oppresses and shows no dignity or justice to Jew or Palestinian."
It would be wonderful if this book were compulsory reading for all Christians especially clergy.

This is a clear and well-written introduction to a complex and difficult subject. I would recommend it to anyone who has been brought up on a fundamentalist approach to the Bible but who is still willing to learn something new about Scriptural interpretation.

An excellent assessment of the current position regarding the Christian and Zionism exposing the literalistic view of some who claim biblical support for their pro-israel stance.

The early half of the book is very theology heavy, with lots of technical terms that would baffle anyone but a professional theologan, and it has to be said that for the lay reader, this will be very difficult to go through, and I found it hard to get "the gist" of what he was saying in the first half of the book. The second half of the book is much better, talking about how Christian Zionism has potentially influenced Middle East policy in both Democrat and Republican White Houses. The book is well written, and once the author gets past the theological jargon in the first half of the book, the rest of the book is an informative read. I was lucky enough to attend a lecture by the author, and it has to be said he is a better speaker than a writer, but this is still a decent effort, although it is more theology based that politically based, and therefore has less mass appeal than if the reverse had been true. Nevertheless, it is a must for theology students who have an interest in the modern world.
