Format: Hardcover
This is a beautiful book well laid out and full of color images from start to finish, it shows how the designer thinks, with his mood boards, collages, swatches and designs right up to the girls walking down the catwalk, it is a real start to finish summery of a collection at it's best.
The book starts of A Couturier: The creative Process. And proceeds in four parts.
Part one: Memories and encounters. The Scrapbooks.
Part Two: By Chance and Design. The Scrap books.
Part Three: The Collection Crystallizes. The Scrapbook.
The Collection on the Catwalk.

This book was a present and we knew it was a second hand copy. it was in very good condition and arrived very quickly - weeks before it was scheduled to arrive. The receiver of the book loves it but as a buyer I am frustrated at having to pay £45 for a book which had a sticker inside saying £7.99. If yesterdays books really did buy it for that then do they really have to make so much profit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Delve into the creative process of a famous designer 27 Oct. 1998
By cyber3d@cyberverse.com - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover
I recommend this as a must have for anyone interested in couture. It is a very detailed and revealing book on the working methods of Christian Lacroix. No other book follows the mind of a famous designer as he creates a collection the way this book does. It draws on Christian's very own notes and scrapbook. Great content, great visuals, great book!

extreme couture 19 Feb. 2006
By BOYWAY - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover Verified Purchase
An extremely personal record of the inner workings of one of the most brilliant romantics to work in french couture. If you admire artists that follow their own vision (and a wonderfully extreme vision at that!) this "scrap-book" will forever inspire and delight you. Mr. Lacroix's strong interest in historical research, passion for color and textiles. and fascination with creating one-of -a-kind-looks for a dramatic, glamorous, accentric woman fills his book of ideas with an unusual richness. A true fashion original.
