Book Description

What would the world look like if God didn't exist? Exactly like this one, goes the saying. This book explores various characteristics that would be expected to be true if the Christian god does not exist and shows quite convincingly that the world as we know it does indeed seem to be lacking such a supreme being. Although this book is geared towards Christians, much of it applies to theism in general. After reading this thought-provoking book, it is up to any Christians reading it whether or not they are willing to continue believing in a god that is equivalent to nothing.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good read, but authors writing "attitude" a bit distracting 9 Oct. 2014

I enjoyed the book overall and believe Fisk delivered a compelling view. It is very light coverage of a serious topic, but in the brief book, Fisk does the issue justice. The subtitle "Why Christianity Isn't the only Game in Town" is not really focused on in the book. The main theme of the book is why Christianity and specifically the Bible is not a compelling version of reality. The author seems to be writing to non-Christians as the writing style takes on a almost humorous slant when making some points, which will likely lose Christian reads.

Fisk makes several good arguments, especially when referring the Old Testament and Biblical inconsistencies.

A logical view of an illogical subject, the Christian religion. A critical examination of biblical texts, combined with the author's humour make this an interesting read.
