"This CD has been a long time coming. When Kellie was thirteen she was ready to go out gigging with me so we played folk clubs around the North West, and what a time we had!" This new album contains some of the songs we performed then, songs that we loved, inspired by artists that we love equally. Sometimes when we sing together I lose my identity and forget which voice is mine, this is common within families I know but it still makes the hairs on the back of my neck rise. There is a certain telepathy between us and we frequently turn to each other in the middle of a song and smile when one of us takes an unexpected note, or changes the timing slightly and the other just follows. Our lives as musicians over the last ten years have made it impossible thus far to get this album together. So here we are at last on record…" Chris While on mother and daughter's debut album. Format:Audio CD
I was so enchanted by Kellie While when I saw and heard her recently,with The Albion Band, that I had to get something to follow up on the experience. The most obvious in a short list was the recording of Kellie working with her mother. I shall need to listen again, for I was not able to give the whole CD my undivided attention, but my impressions were that there was not much in the way of variety, in terms of pace, rhythm or cadence, and as these were among the elements that first attracted my attention, I was a little disappointed.

My wife and I bought this CD after seeing Kelly perform solo, and it's quickly become one of our favorites. Great, simple arrangements, beautiful harmonies and spirited renditions. I don't know why Chris and Kelly haven't made a bigger splash. 'Broken things' is a highlight.

The combination of mother and daughters voices is simply a joy to hear.
There is not a dud track in the collection, and with listening the songs grow on you over time.
