An absolute must for any Chris Boardman fan, and any cycling fan period. Being a dyed in the wool Greg LeMond fan, I was pleasantly surprised by the forword written by Greg. Chris gives some great insight into his career, including his early racing, the '92 olympics where he got every cycling fan's attention (even us over here in the U.S.!!), and onto his pro road racing career. I found his account of the infamous '95 TDF prologue 'crash' really interesting, as I had only read & heard the media version. Chris also outlines some of his philosophy on training & racing, and goes into some detail with some goal-specific workouts & training plans. If only I could get to the 400+ sustainable watts as Chris did in the tests!! Some things you just need to be born with. I can highly recommend this book

To date I could count how many books I have really enjoyed in recent years on one hand, this book caught my attention a few weeks ago and having bought it, I read the lot in one day, I just did'nt have the mind to put the thing down it's cramed with information compiled by Chris a real wealth of knowledge to any cyclist wishing to get stronger fitter faster, if you don't believe me just order the book and see for your self, I was more than happy with my copy but would love it to be signed by Chris himself.

3.0 out of 5 stars More like the complete Chris Bordman 15 Mar 2002

I found it more about Chris Boardman than cycling, not that I dislike Chris, the begining covers a lot of Chris's history, but to be fare, the end gave some interesting training tips.

This is a great book for all fans of Chris Boardman and cycling. Having received a pre-publication copy for review, I can thoroughly recommend it. As a cyclist myself I found it a "Riveting Read" as Chris tells us in depth about the keypoints in his life and cycling career.

3.0 out of 5 stars A good book for Chris Boardman fans 14 Oct 2002
By A Customer
I found this book to be very readable especially if you are interested in Chris himself. He goes into great detail regarding his training methods and the motivation required to reach the top. However this book is NOT a good training book for beginners or average cyclists. The training is aimed at the more experienced athletes that can afford to spend a lot of money and time on the best equipment, testing, coaching etc.
