Good product, sturdy construction and does exactly as it should. Unfortunately, it doesn't come with instructions to help with putting it together. Not a huge problem as it is very simple to put together and with a little thought you can work out which screw goes where ( I managed to construct it in 5 minutes), but I would have preferred if something just told me what goes where.

Unlike in another persons review, I had instructions.
Delivery was prompt - next day - which was nice.
Unpacked product, yep, instructions, all bits there, all the right bolts - YAY.
Start building it, take one of the vertical columns: "whoops, the wrong one", take the other: "hmm, also the wrong one - that can't be". Compare the columns: "Ah, I got two identical, as opposed to two opposing ones." I have two righthand coumns instead of one right-, one lefthand. Hope that doesn't mean someone else has got two lefthand ones.
Claim made, now we wait and see what happens.

Shame, seems more like an honest mistake that a production error. Generally seems rather sturdy for a £20 product.
Three stars due to major (if maybe honest) mistake.

Fit for purpose. 8 Mar 2012

Item arrived promptly and included all the correct parts and a set of simple, illustrated, three part instructions. It took a total of 17 mins to unpack and assemble (I timed it). The assembly requires no tools and a very minimum DIY knowledge. When assembled the item is very light and can be lifted with one hand and is certainly robust enough to hold 5 guitars.

The threads on one of the welded on bolts were stripped for some reason (no, it wasn't me), this was on one of the uprights and was designed to allow locking after height adjustment. It means that I don't have that option but the default height is suitable to be fair. Also, there are two spacers provided for the adjuster that fits between the floor piece and the upright that are the wrong size (too thick). This has been commented on in the past.

I have one steel Dobro, one 12 string Thomson acoustic, one Fender style electric guitar, one Hondo Bass and one BB King sig model es355 on the rack and although it's tight, they fit. I'm a little concerned about getting the es355 scratched so I've put it on the end and there is a little fresh air between it and the next instrument. It should be OK, if I'm careful and the unit doesn't get knocked.

This stand should not be taken on the road as I don't think it would stand up to the rigours and you'd have to expect your guitars to pick up a ding or two as you swapped them around in a live situation. Having said that for around twenty quid you be pushing it to expect a road hardy bit of kit.

It loses one star simply because of the stripped thread issue and the fact that it seemed too inconsequential to trigger a return.

I'd certainly recommend it for home use.
