4.0 out of 5 stars you know what for £30 it isn't bad :) 14 Jan 2011
By Mark
All in all not a bad DC brick. Using it to power a guitar FX board and done its job so far. To date iv not experienced ANY hum or background hiss which tbh at this price range is pretty rare. The construction isn't bad either...i mean sure its not made with high grade steel but having toured around with it over the last 3 years I've never had any problems... like many things : take care of it and it'll take care of you.

One thing I have found is that the power leads don't fit snugly inside the socket shells and they do have a tendency to fall out when you shift it around a bit but its not a huge issue - its easy enough to put them in before a show and providing you don't decide to kick your pedal board across the the stage then it will stay secure for as long as you need it to. The brick itself is also pretty compact and lightweight which is great for practicality and portability - fits nicely inside the neck pocket of soft case guitar bags for example.

Other bricks ARE better don't get me wrong : im not about to compare this to a "T-Rex Fuel Tank" for example but (although an excellent supply) I just get the feeling I'd regret paying £155 for one when I could just as easily pick one of these up to do the same job. I WOULD SAY THOUGH : if your planning on doing ALOT of unforgiving touring then one of the "above" bricks is a better bet...... they can survive Nuclear Wars and will give a better performance under rigorous use than these little fella's.

anyways in short : i haven't experienced any of the problems the other buyers have had but if I did i wouldn't hesitate to just throw it out and buy another one. They are cheap, noiseless and do what they say on the packet : no frills or fancy buttons just plain old plug-in & power on.

Nomore batteries for me now I have this, really relatively inexpensive when you think about how much I spend on batteries, comes with enough leads to power up to 10 pedals, great product :)

2.0 out of 5 stars Chord 9vdc Power bank 14 Dec 2011

Noisy. Does the job. but noisy... I found the picture of the power supply to be deceiving. It's light in weight, plastic, and feels cheap.

4.0 out of 5 stars Powerbrick review 24 Aug 2012

It does the job very well, comes with loads of connectors to power up to 10 pedals. The only downside is that it doesn't feel very study, but at this price you shouldn't expect it to be built like a tank.

If you look after your gear this will be fine but if you plan on touring loads or have really heavy feet get something a bit stronger

5.0 out of 5 stars Unbelieviable Value 30 April 2013

I bought this to run guitar effects through while playing in a wedding band. To date I have had no problems with it what so ever.
It is silent, light and has plenty of space for all my pedals.
Other guitar players I know had this long before I did and report no problems after 2-3 years of use.

Some reviews say it is to light and can be easily broken but if you look after it and obviously don't throw it downstairs or jump on it, it will be absolutely fine.

4.0 out of 5 stars Does the job 25 April 2013

No real issues, does the job without any hitches. Only issues are it could possibly do with slightly longer leads to connect to the pedals, and the casing feels a little lightweight, so I do feel it may get smashed to pieces as soon as something falls onto my pedal board. But I am just nitpicking here, for the price I can't complain, definite recommendation.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfectly good for the money. 3 Jan 2013

Seeing as the higher-end power supplies typically cost over £100, you can't argue with the value of this. For me it has run 7 pedals simultaneously with no problems – no noise, no cable-length issues etc. Might get a bit tricky cable-wise if you are running pedals from all ten outputs, especially if you need them all in a row. But otherwise, this is really not bad. If you gig and are prone to jumping about on stage then this probably isn't for you, as it is a bit flimsy. But it's perfect for practice and for your regular small-venue gigs if you don't jump and stamp all over it! I'm very happy with it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Decent 2 Jan 2013

This is a good device! it does exactly what it says on the tin without any unwanted noise.

My only criticism would be that the cables that connect the pedals to the device are a bit too short, I've managed to get 7 boss pedals connected to it in a row, beyond that I'll have to make a row either side of the box meaning the box might get in the way.

All in all though good value for money!
