Reviews

Denmark released, PAL/Region 2 DVD: LANGUAGES: Danish ( Dolby Digital 5.1 ), English ( Subtitles ), Norwegian ( Subtitles ), WIDESCREEN (1.78:1), SPECIAL FEATURES: Cast/Crew Interview(s), Interactive Menu, Scene Access, Teaser(s), Trailer(s), SYNOPSIS: Coal black farce plays like a cross between "Dumb & Dumber", "The Texas Chain Saw Massacre" and "Mifune". The story of two dimwitted brothers and their troubles with a corpse, a nosy neighbor and a pregnant waitress is pretty thin, but director Oplev tries to compensate with off-the-wall gags and gross-out humor, which sometimes work, sometimes doesnŽt. The cast is game, and obviously has a whale of a time, and there are a couple of genuine belly-laughs.

this movie Chop Chop (fukssvansen) is one of the best danish movie ever! the story about the two brothers and their problems are told in a ironic way that are typical for danes and if there should be a warning it should be that not everybody gets it because of that special kind of humour. the actors, some of Denmarks finest, are all playing their best - especially Martin Buch who plays the role of Dennis, the main charactor, with a warmth that most women falls a little bit in love with him. this was his first leading role and, well he is one of the best actors in denamrk at the momnent...
a touching movie with lots of laugh and perhaps a tear(as Chapling said) so give it a try and experience the danes at their best! this is a movie who look like a billion but didn't cost much to produce... absolutely the finest indiemovie by a danish director for a long time...

Star of Borgen - Series 1 [DVD], Sidse Babett Knudsen plays the funny character of Rita in Fukssvansen, a comedy set around Christmastime involving two brothers. Sidse is excellent in her first class portrayal of Rita. We get to see some excellent facial expressions and body language from Sidse in the first half of this film. Supported by a decent cast including Anders W. Berthelsen Krøniken (Better Times) Volume 1 (Episodes 1 & 2) (Import) (English Subtitles), the film is sure to amuse any fans of a good comedy.
Produced in 2001, the film is entirely in Danish with English subtitles throughout.
For more Sidse, have a look at these other comedies Take the Trash ( Blå mænd ), Therapy ( Parterapi ) and Let's Get Lost which all prove Sidse's wonderful abilities with comedy.
Enjoy!

If you can play DVDs from USA (Region 1) with no problem, have a look at Proof [DVD] [2004] [Region 1] [US Import] [NTSC] from 2004. Proof is an Irish thriller starring Sidse as an Albanian woman who has been living in Copenhagen after defecting but has now turned up in Dublin searching for her sister believed dead. Proof is excellent and is well worth a watch. The set has four 50 minute episodes with Sidse speaking in English throughout.
