Product Description

Product Description

In the world of print, paper choice influences every design project and designers often complain about the lack of genuinely good reference material for projects requiring a strong design input. Choosing and Using Paper for Great Graphic Design fills this gap. Case studies detail how the paper was chosen, the innovative treatments applied (folding, binding, cutting, embossing, printing, etc), and why they make the piece successful. By highlighting what was made possible through the paper choice, and how it affected the final design, this guide shows how paper influences and enhances graphic design and explains how to choose and use the right paper for the job. It explains how to turn ideas into reality. A primary resource to inspire original creative thought, it showcases the very best designs created through the ingenious and groundbreaking use of paper and printing techniques.

5.0 out of 5 stars Every graphic designer should own this book., 4 Nov 2008

Simply put, this is the best design book I have ever bought, and I have alot of excellent books.

The examples included in this 250+ paged book are inspiring, unique and motivating.

Each example contains a list of the paper stock used and the printing binding techniques, aswel as a justification paragraph as to why the designer did it that way.

Included is a pack of 18 paper examples that give the reader further ideas as to where to go with a project.

Rotovision seem to make the best design books and this has surpassed their best to date.

An absolutely amazing book! Bursting with beautiful design examples, with a full account of how each piece was created, what paper, techniques, companies and folds. As a design student, this book is currently constantly by my side as an aid and reference point. I could not live without it and I highly recommend it to designer and student alike, this is a must! Beautifully designed from start to finish with an envelope of paper samples to finish at the back. Very educational you will not be disappointed!
