After having 3 boys I was desperate to have a daughter. At first, the book seemed rather confusing, however, if you are as determined as I was you soon become a 'dab hand' at reading, digesting and then putting it into practice! Hazel also puts in summary points at the end of each chapter, which is easily remembered. I did not feel it necessary to chart my temperature as I have always had the 'sticky mucus' which denotes ovulation. The main things we did were swapping my husbands boxer shorts for knickers - only having intercourse up to day 11 (I ovulated on days 14) and a lot of praying. I will never forget the sheer joy that I felt when I was told at my 20 week scan that I was carrying my much wanted baby girl! She was born on 08 April 2000 and it is just so different. Yeah ok, the pooh smell the same and the night feeds make you tired! but hey, she's a girl. I want another one now - a girl that is - so whether or not the method works is still open for debate - but it worked for me! It's worth stacking the odds isn't it - for the price of a paperback book!
