Review

Letters from readers: 'After following your rules, baby Laura arrived ... As you can imagine, we are absolutely delighted and I want to thank you for writing the book' 'I had the key to unlock my feelings and to achieve what I had thought would be impossible. Your book is so enlightening and my feelings are identified on every page. I thought I was the only one who felt that way' 'We did everything you said and on 11 July we got our baby girl. And I still can't believe she is actually here. I'm so happy; I'm crying now while writing this. I feel I'm the luckiest person in the world' 'I had to write in my present state of euphoria and let you know that your timing theory worked for us ... My husband had said all along that he would like another boy, but his tears of joy when our little girl arrived made us realise that we had achieved what we always longed for'

Readers should note that this is an updated book of Hazel Phillips' original "Boy or Girl Your Right to Choose" and contains new findings from her research. Her methodology is now proven with a very high success rate (97%). BUT...this is not a book which you can pick up and glean a few tips from and think you know what to do. If you want to truly follow the methods outlined you have to do so to the letter and a few months of preparatory charting and findings will be necessary. Without this, you will either be disappointed or lucky! You need to read the book several times to ensure you are aware of all the critical factors involved.

with renewed hope we tried for a baby girl after having had 3 lovely boys. we carefully followed the instructions, charting for 6 months etc, then had our 4th boy! although I am pleased it made me go ahead and have another baby who is very lovely, I do think the book is too idealistic and perhaps more of the "failees' ought to let her know about it

After having 3 boys I was desperate to have a daughter. At first, the book seemed rather confusing, however, if you are as determined as I was you soon become a 'dab hand' at reading, digesting and then putting it into practice! Hazel also puts in summary points at the end of each chapter, which is easily remembered. I did not feel it necessary to chart my temperature as I have always had the 'sticky mucus' which denotes ovulation. The main things we did were swapping my husbands boxer shorts for knickers - only having intercourse up to day 11 (I ovulated on days 14) and a lot of praying. I will never forget the sheer joy that I felt when I was told at my 20 week scan that I was carrying my much wanted baby girl! She was born on 08 April 2000 and it is just so different. Yeah ok, the pooh smell the same and the night feeds make you tired! but hey, she's a girl. I want another one now - a girl that is - so whether or not the method works is still open for debate - but it worked for me! It's worth stacking the odds isn't it - for the price of a paperback book!
