A bittersweet coming of age circa 1950 although there are times you forget that it's a different era.
A lot of comparisons have been made to and Catcher in the Rye and Bell Jar and Bonjour Tristesse
but the style and ambience of this novel much more evocative of F.Scott Fitzgerald
