More About the Author

Carole Matthews is the bestselling author of more than 25 hugely successful romantic comedy novels. Her unique sense of humour has won her legions of fans all over the world.

Her books, A Cottage by the Sea and Calling Mrs Christmas have both appeared in the top ten of the Sunday Times bestseller list. Her novels Welcome To The Real World and Wrapped Up In You were shortlisted for the RNA Romantic Novel of the Year award. She was also inducted into The Festival of Romance Hall of Fame for her outstanding contribution to romantic fiction.
Carole is a prolific writer of short stories, featuring in several anthologies, and has presented on television. She's also a regular radio guest.

Born in St Helens, Merseyside, Carole has always been an avid reader and dreamed of being a teacher, an air traffic controller, a travel guide or a hairdresser - writer never featured once. Leaving Liverpool for London after a torrid holiday romance in Torquay, she worked as a secretary, an ice-cream lady, a shop assistant and a beauty therapist. It was when she was working in a completely mad holistic clinic that she first thought 'one day I should write a book about this.' She still hasn't got round to it.

Entering a short story competition in Writing Magazine, the first fiction she'd written since being coerced into it at school, Carole - to her and everyone else's amazement - won a thousand pounds! Then - to her and everyone else's amazement - she spent the money, not on shoes and handbags, but on a writing course. The tutor on the course liked what she was writing and recommended an agent who took her on straight away. He sold her first book, which became Let's Meet on Platform 8, a week later.

Previously very unlucky in love, she now lives happily ever after with her partner, Lovely Kev, at Matthews' Towers in the Costa del Keynes. She likes to drink champagne, eat chocolate, bake cake and spends far too much time on Facebook and Twitter.

Having completely loved the Chocolate Lover's Club I was thrilled to see that Carole Matthews had written a sequel and that the "best girls" were back to entertain with yet more of their antics. This sequel picks up where the first one ends with ease and you slip straight back into the whirlwind lives of Lucy, Autumn, Nadia and Chantal. If you are concerned that sequels do not live up to first instalments then please do not worry, this sequel is just as witty and entertaining as the first book and you find yourself quickly wrapped up in the world of the Chocolate Lover's Club in yet another book I just couldn't put down! There is nothing else I can say other than this book is excellent and I'd recommend it to everyone!

In this latest book we meet Lucy who is a single thirty something girl who has just discovered that her fella has done the dirty on her! Her main love in life is chocolate along with Nadia, Chantelle and Autumn. We follow the four girls as they try to make sense of their lives. Will they all get the Happy Ever after that they want?

Carole Matthews has done her followers proud! I was worried that a sequel would lessen my enjoyment of the first book but if anything she has made this book even better. If you haven't read her books before start with 'The Chocolate Lovers Club' and then this one, it's well worth the read. So much so I read this within a day! The characters are real and you find yourself empathising with all of them for one reason or another. It's not a book with profound meaning, however it has such a "real" feel to it, you can almost feel yourself sitting next to these characters. I would say if you want a book that is easy to read, thoroughly enjoyable and not too heavy this is the one!

Ok, this lady is good, correction, BRILLIANT! As the other reviewer here rightly says, it is a lot darker than the first, but it's more true to life that not everyone has everything 'just so' in their lives. The writing is superb, and I found it absolutely, un-put-down-able! My dear husband and cats didn't get a look in while my head was in this book, I just had to keep going! i really feel that the end has been set up for a third installment too, I soooooo hope so! Well done Carole, perfect!

As with The Chocolate Lovers Club, I could not put this book down. Carole Matthews has completely exceeded herself with these 2 books. I thought they were both fantastic. They are full of comedy, romance and were tearjerking in places. Can't wait for her next book.

The club are back - Nadia is still not sure whether her husband Toby has kicked his online gambling habit; Chantel could be pregnant, but who's the father? Lucy is puzzled about the lack of communication from Crush in Australia, and the omnipresent Marcus, her ex; Autumn is still worried about her drug addict brother, and his effect on her new relationship with Addison. There are problems to be solved and challenges to be faced all with the help of friendship and chocolate. This is a feel good book, which has its serious side. The wedding scene is laugh out loud funny and would hardly be out of place in an Ealing comedy. I loved it.

After having read the first Chocolate Lovers book at first I didn't realise this was a sequel until I read the blurb on the back of the book! I thought it genuinely was a diet book that had been brought out on the strength of the other book! I thought I would need it as reading the previous book made my mouth water and think of chocolate constantly! However,as with the first book, this did not disappoint. Carole Matthews' characters were as funny and as lovable as before. I can wholeheartedly recommend all of Carole's books, they are like therapy to me!

A superb piece of chick lit with characters we can all relate to in one shape or form.Laugh out loud, cry or just hug them the girls are just great! Perfect for a self indulgent weekend where the phone is off the hook/ laying on the beach. It's all about you, the book and do keep some delicious chocolates by your side as turning the pages whilst you unwrap those temptations go hand in hand.So enjoy a little 'me' time in our busy world - you certainly can with this book :)

This is a book that once I started I couldn't put down. I never thought it would be as good as the first, when in fact it even surpassed that.
The only problem as with all good things is that it has to come to an end. I think it would be really great for there to be another in the series for you really are left wondering about what might happen next.
So carole if there is any slight chance you are reading this please please put us out of our misery.
