All the teenage humours of romance, jealousy, friendship and sorrow rage freely in this brilliantly observed story of contemporary life. (Julia Eccleshare Lovereading4kids.co.uk)

I can hardly wait to read Cherry Crush, it could possibly be my favourite Cathy Cassidy book! (Beata, age 11)

When loner Cherry Costelloe's dad falls in love with Charlotte Tanberry - who already has four daughters of her own - the couple decide to move in together and start a family business making exquisite handmade chocolates. While Cherry soon finds a connection with three of her new sisters, the eldest - the beautiful but not-so-sweet Honey - makes it clear she doesn't want anything to do with the Scottish newcomers. And Cherry's crush on the swoonworthy Shay Fletcher doesn't help matters, especially since he's her new arch-enemy's boyfriend. Cue major dramas...

In this first instalment of Chocolate Box Girls, our narrator is shy but imaginative Cherry, whose tendency to confuse fact and fantasy gets her into trouble on a regular basis. Half Scottish and half Japanese, she's never felt that she fit in anywhere - except with her dad at home. And she soon realises that moving in with the Tanberrys isn't going to be all plain sailing. Her journey is mirrored endearingly by that of her beloved golfish Rover, as they both adjust to the pros and cons of being a little fish in a big pond for a change.

Cherry Crush also introduces us to all four Tanberry girls, but we get to know oldest sister Honey the best. While her hostility towards Cherry means she's in some ways the villain of the story, we gradually realise that she hasn't had such an easy time of it herself. The other sisters - dedicated ballerina Summer, her quirky twin Skye, and tomboy Coco - are torn between their loyalty to Honey and welcoming Cherry to the family. They're all so individual and easy-to-relate-to that I'm sure readers won't be able to resist choosing a favourite. The book even includes a 'Which Chocolate Box Girl Are You?' quiz in case you have any trouble deciding.

I absolutely love love LOVED this book!!! I read the first chapter and was like...WOW! It's definitely one of Cathy's best books. It is about a girl called Cherry who lives with her dad, and moves to her dad's girlfriends house. She's going to live with 4 new sisters, but things slowly change as Cherry and oldest sister Honey aren't the best of friends.....I couldn't put this book down, adored the story idea and recommend it if you want a good read!

I got this delivered in the post yesterday morning and had read it by lunchtime! After reading most of Cathy Cassidy's other books, including Sundae Girl, Driftwood, Lucky Star, Indigo Blue, Dizzy, Gingersnaps and Angel Cake, I was very eager to read this one!

It did NOT dissappoint!

Cherry Costello moves to Somerset with her dad Paddy (her Japanese mum died when Cherry was 4 years old). They live with Charlotte, an old friend of Paddy's from art college, and her 4 daughters; Coco, Skye, Summer and Honey. Paddy and Charlotte are madly in love, which doesn't please Honey in the slightest. Cherry gets along well with Coco, Skye and Summer, but Honey is insistent that she doesn't need another sister. Then Cherry sets eyes on the gorgeous Shay Fletcher, but when she realises that Shay is Honey's boyfriend, things are so very different.

Cherry tries hard to resist Shay, but with his floppy golden hair, black beanie hat and blue guitar, it seems almost impossible. Depending on Teen mags for advice, Cherry needs to steer right clear of Shay........ Will Honey still love Shay even though he has his sea-green eyes set on Cherry Costello?

It is a brilliant book, definitely my new favourite of Cathy Cassidy's! I recommend to any girl aged between 10 and 16 :)

A fabulous start to a fab series. its sort of emtional and makes you feel like if you were her you would be comletely different. so the story is about a lovely girl called cherry. her mum has disappeared, a kind japanese mum who made cherrys life turn. a few years later she lives in glasgow with her dad and in a unsuitable school for her personality. her dad is connected to a kind woman called charlotte and is starting to really love her. sooooo as you thought, yes cherry and her dad are moving to England to live with charlotte and her 4 DAUGHTERS!!!!!!!!! from the day she starts there eeveryone is kind to her and likes her but not Honey.

Honey cant get over the fact that her dad has left and hates that cherry and her dad are here. She throws cherrys mums kimono out the window. however skye and summer and coco and charlotte really like cherry.

The name of the book cherry crush sounds like a book all about a crush and she keeps on going on about it. but no. at first she likes the crush and then hates him. shay is with honey together and then honey finds out that shay likes cherry. uh oh. i wont give it away but im tellin ya gonna cringe bad. :o x\ READ NOW READ NOW READ NOW READ NOW READ NOW.
