Product Description

Review

It is overwhelming in its scholarship, humbling in its ambit. It is the foremost work on the law of contract... it continues to be the practitioner's choice for authority and accessibility. There is no doubt that anyone called upon to advise on contract law or to apply its principles will find this work indispensable.Chitty has been around a long time. In fact, the first edition was published in 1826. Therefore, it has had a very long time to establish itself as the premier work on the English law of contract, where it continues to enjoy an unrivalled status. It is the authority to which all legal practitioners turn, when contract points are in issue. New Law Journal.

Product Description

The two volumes of this revised work aim to provide unrivalled expertise for common law and commercial barristers and solicitors as well as academics and the judiciary. Its clear style ensures it can be read and understood by practitioners at all levels of expertise within contract law. Interpretation and explanatory narrative are supported by examples of case law and legislation. Volume I covers general principles, whilst Volume II deals with specific contracts. All key developments in case law and legislation since the 27th edition in 1994 have been incorporated into this edition. Full reference has been made to the Civil Procedure Rules, and the terminology arising has been used where relevant. The work is supplemented regularly to ensure it remains relevant and authoritative.

First law of contract, always read the small print. A previous reviewer has given it one star because it's claimed amazon hasn't listed what version this is. Well they have if you read it! It states it is the 29th edition, the 30th is out now. The price represents a saving on the new edition but very much a book for those with some legal knowledge. Not recoomended for those who want to dip their toes in the water, but for those who do deal with contract law on a regular basis , it's a fine piece of work.

Amazon should ensure the seller declares whether this is latest edition. This looks like the 2004 edition and not the 2010 edition
