Really enjoyed this film and Jackie Chan's stunt work is amazing.

Really loved the scene where Jackie is being chased around a maze by guard dogs. Really well filmed and funny.

Got slightly worried half way in, when Jackie and his friends are attacked by pirates. The Scene location was begging for a classic Chan style fight scene but all we got were bad CGI bee's and an equally weak log ride in the jungle.

I was thinking is it all stunt work and no classic fight scenes that we know and love Jackie for.... Then at the end BOOM... just what I had been waiting for. A vintage, classic fight scene.. Great use of props and fast and funny and Jackie moved like he was half his age.. Found it funny and exciting and left me wanting more...

After watching the outtakes and a stunt that goes horribly wrong, I would now be more than happy with hours of great films Jackie has given us over the years and see the man retire from doing all his own stunts..

Only thing left and I am sure Jackie Chan fan's around the world will agree... Thank you Jackie for years of making me laugh, gasp with excitement at your crazy stunts and last but not least your amazing fight scenes.. ..

Whats The Story.
Asian Hawk (Jackie Chan) is a soldier of fortune who leads a team to recover several lost artifacts from the Old Summer Palace - the bronze heads of the 12 Chinese Zodiac animals which were looted in the 1800s.

Their quest takes them around the world from the vineyards of France to the slopes of an active volcano with Hawk stopping at nothing to accomplish the mission.

Format: DVD
Also known as "Armour of God III." Jackie Chan stars as Martin, aka Asian Hawk in this action comedy. Chan delivers as expected. Heavy action, comedy, and over choreographed fight scenes.

Chan is a master thief who uses his ability to steal art work. His latest job is to find and obtain the 12 bronze heads of the Chinese zodiac which were stolen in 1860. The movie has a theme of western civilization plunder and returning the loot.

The beginning was great with Chan being a human toboggan during his escape, even if he went faster than physically possible. The scenes lessened from this point as a smart adult action comedy turned into a kids movie by the pirate scene which included one man who reminded me of Johnny Depp.

The ending tapered off as the plot became a bit odd with the volcano. Fun popcorn film. Just don't expect too much.

Parental Guide: No f-bombs, sex, or nudity. Girl/girl fight.

Chinese Zodiac DVD has an original language and English subtitles option. I love JC films but this one is a little bit disappointing. It sort of compares to City Hunter, it can be a little too silly in places. The film didn't flow very well and the storyline became a little bit confused. In places the film is like a children's Disney film. Still...it is JC so I had to have it in my collection. At least it is not an Americanised film! I do like films like Rush Hour but they aren't like watching a Hong Kong made JC film. Chinese Zodiac is not great but at least it has original language and more of a Hong Kong feel than American.

Another great film of Jackie Chan's. Considering Jackie's age now (no offence, of course), I think his stunts are amazing. This movie is full of action and is thoroughly enjoyable. The only thing that marred the enjoyment for us, was that the speech was not in synchronization with the actors' mouth movements. I have no idea if the DVD I bought was faulty, it is a genuine one of course, but I have kept it anyway. It would be interesting to find out if any others have had this problem. The film itself is, in my opinion excellent. Enjoy.
