Product Description

Product Description

The aim of ancient Chinese medicine is to restore harmony through herbal medicine, acupuncture, moxibustion and the diagnostic skills of the physician. The governing principle is to balance Yin and Yang. This book explains the theory and practice in the light of up-to-date scientific research.

From the Publisher

Long considered the most authoritative work on Chinese medicine, this book has already sold more than 40,000 copies in the UK alone. Now revised and expanded by the author, who is associate director of the Center for Alternative Medicine Research and Education at Boston’s Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School, it is an invaluable reference source. ‘While the book’s rich detail makes it of great use to practicing healers, it is in its entirety very simply written, enjoyable reading for the layman … An instructive, profound and important work’ Professor Martin Schwartz, University of California, Berkeley --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Classic Chinese Medicine Book, 23 Feb 2009
By Kristin (Wiltshire) - See all my reviews
Not too technical, despite its depth, and easy to dip in to if you are just an enthusiast, but also great if you plan on practicing any of the related chinese medicines.
