Chinese Cinderella was a very touching book It really made you feel in Adeline's place. You could feel her longing to have a happy life and how much she loved her Aunt Baba. It also described what growing up in China was like. It wasn't too factual, but kept to yhe story line. When I was reading it I didn't want to put it down! I finished it in 4 hours! Again I'd like to say how enjoyable this book was - I liked it so much I got FALLING LEAVES the next day!

This book is very, very good. It is well written and being from the point of view of a child it is very well constructed. It is heart breaking and very thought provoking through out.
It is a really easy book to read in terms of page layout and so on but Adeline Yen Mah has left out nothing of the more painful details, the story made me think all the way through about the cruelty suffered by author and how anyone can subject a child to such treatment.
I would recommend this to anybody but it is not something for the light hearted.

i think chinese cinderella is a heart breaking true story. i really loved reading about her. if you havent got it you should and enjoy it as much as i did!
