1.0 out of 5 stars Buyer Beware 18 Feb 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase
A man is accidentally woken from cryogenic sleep, but his soul has left his body. Then the killing starts.

I saw this movie late one night on TV sometime in the early 1990's, and remember finding it really creepy. When it suddenly appeared for UK release on DVD, I jumped at the chance to see it again.

The quality of transfer isn't just poor, it's appalling - 4th generation VHS dropped in a puddle and stamped on appalling. There is severe wow/flutter on the sound, the picture has extensive dropouts and ghosting - I couldn't get beyond the first five minutes.

First it went in the bin, now its being returned to Amazon four hours after it arrived.

Note that I have an extensive collection of DVD's, including a few public domain movies that have obviously used a VHS tape as the master - I've never seen any release, never mind a commercial release, as bad as this one.

Buyer beware.

1.0 out of 5 stars Abysmal copy from an abysmal master tape 4 Mar 2010
Don't buy this on DVD, it's terrible. I've just returned my copy for a refund. The VHS I bought to replace it is even worse (and that's unusual as the source is usually reliable) . This can only meant that the master tape they are lifting them from must be in an appalling state. The sound is like listening to people speaking while having their hands over their mouths, ie the bass lines are way too high and the picture is atrocious (with dropout and untrackable hold on the VHS).

It's such a shame as this little gem of a horror film needs to be digitally remastered before it is sold again, Michael Beck is such an excellent actor; he, and us fans deserve better. This is a creepy classic and it deserves a decent release. So let's hope the powers that be get off their backsides and remaster it. This is the 21st century after all!

I can remember recording this off the TV 20 years ago and i loved it, when i saw you could get it on DVD i snapped it up, its a great creepy jumpy thriller. The only down side is the quality of the transfer- Picture & Sound are terrible My old VHS Copy is far SUPPERIA.. I cant wait for a better enhanced Release of this film.. "Wot a shame"
