Product Description

The term "chill out" has been used intensely to market LPs over the past few years. What it usually indicates is a compilation stuffed full of the downtempo, balearic and leftfield tracks that have been big over the summer. The Euphoria series is a light exception to the rule in that its choice of tracks isn't quite so obvious. Tracks like TallPaul vs INXS "Precious Heart", Chicane's "Overture", Dido's "Take My Hand" and Jakatta's "American Dream" have all appeared on their fair share of compilations over the last few months, but they are joined by more considered choices such as Tangerine Dream's "Love an a Real Train", Talvin Singh's "Disser", Art of Noise's "Moments in Love", Future Sound of London's"Papua New Guinea" and some exclusives from Solar Stone and Push. The album also has the advantage of being mellifluously mixed (digitally, by Solar Stone) so that your relaxed mind state isn't distracted too much by gaps and breaks. Not the most essential listen, but certainly one to get you into the chilled zone without repeating the formula too much. --Paul Sullivan

5.0 out of 5 stars Smarter Than The Average Chillout 4 Sep 2001
Format:Audio CD
It seems not a week goes by without another chillout CD appearing on the market, but before rolling your eyes, take a good look at this particular one. Euphoria released their first chillout mix way before Ministry of Sound had success with theirs, and we are now on the third of their series. Whereas the first two were mixed by Red Jerry, this is mixed by Solar Stone. It's a fantastic mix from beginning to end. There are just the right amount of etheral, floating songs that wash over you (William Orbit, Bob Holroyd, Chicane), balanced with slow, lazy beats (Garbage, Everything But The Girl, Leftfield). The choice of tracks is inspired (Garbage and Dutch Force, together!), plus it includes a lot of hidden gems and previously unreleased tracks (inlcuding one by Faithless recorded especially for the CD). It also includes "Spacemen" by The Beloved, which has always been one of my favourite chilled songs ever, and I never thought I'd see it on a compilation like this. In my opinion this is on a par with The Kruder and Dorfmeister Sessions or Dave Seaman's "Back To Mine". Outstanding.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Winner from Euphoria 30 Aug 2001
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
The Euphoria series is getting well established now with this the 3rd Chill album they've made. This is quality ambient trance music and kicks off with Bob Holroyd - Earthwatching. Instantly you know that this is a collection you can sit back and relax too and let the music take you away. This is well mixed by Solar Stone containing great remixes of both tracks that you will recognize and ones that you won't. Garbage, Leftfield, Jakata, William Orbit and Future Sound of London to mention a few. This is a must by for any fan of trance and especially if your continuing to collect the Euphoria series.

4.0 out of 5 stars Stands out from the crowd 18 Aug 2001
By A Customer
Format:Audio CD
With so many "Chilled" albums now on the commercial market it's almost hard to pick which one to buy, after the success of Euphoria's first "Chilled" album thisgave everyone else an excuse to get on the bandwagon, The second Chilled Euphoria was even better than the first so how would the third stand up agaisnt a now overcrowded market! Well for a start it's mixed by Solar Stone who are one of my favourite producers in chilled out trance land, they've done some great stuff and done a dedicated job with this album, according to the sleeve notes it took them 5 months to compile and mix to perfection for it's release, it also has many tracks that are not featured on other chilled out albums in a bid to make it stand out from the crowd, which it does, it's a good album but perhaps for me, not as good as the second one. However there are some cracking mixes: Faithless: Code, Garbage: Milk, Ofra Haza: Love Song, Future Sound Of London: Papa New Guinea, Push: Strange World. However it seems to be the wrong time of the year for releasing this kind of album in my books, roll on Dave Pearce's Ibiza Euphoria on Sepetember 3rd which will contain all the big trance tunes from this year.
