About the Author
Kady MacDonald Denton has illustrated numerous titles for Kingfisher, including A Child's Treasury of Nursery Rhymes, In the Light of the Moon by Sam McBratney, and two collections written by Ann Pilling, The Kingfisher Book of Bible Stories and The Kingfisher Treasury of Myths and Legends. She is also the creator of several picture books. She lives in Manitoba, Canada, and received the prestigious Governor General's Award for her work.

This is a lovely book with beautiful illustrations. We bought it to try and remind ourselves of old fashioned rhymes that we knew from childhood. Whilst some are there, I only realised after purchase that this is an American book so a great deal of fairly standard rhymes for a UK audience are missing, so I would caution purchase of this book.

I loved this book which I bought for my daughter when she was just four months old. The edition I have has the tape with it and it provides many happy hours. Also it includes old and new - this means I can sing along - using the correct words. I would recommend that anyone wanting to keep their pre-school child happy consider purchasing this!

Good book and CD, very complete and nicely organised into different ages.
There were so many ryhmes there were even ones I'd never heard of, despite being bought on Amazon UK , there are quite a lot of American rhymes too.
CD is a bit complicated as there are many songs on one track.
