Back in the day, I had an historic counties puzzle. It was great fun and taught an isolated, South East-dwelling and untravelled boy about his country's geography.
Twenty years on, I thought this would make a nice present for a god daughter, so I searched online for what I thought would still be a common educational toy. Strangely, Amazon was the only place where I could find one. Unfortunately, it's rubbish. For starters, the puzzle pieces are not individual counties, but giant blocks of three or more, with the county names written in tiny letters. It's not much fun as a puzzle, only having fifteen or so pieces; neither is is especially educational, as you don't get a sense of where particular counties fit with each other.
The quality is also pretty dire - the edges of the pieces are gritty and unpolished, and the whole thing has the feel of a cheap knock-off. Avoid.
(Two stars because it has the counties of Ireland.)
